1. boot with xp or win2003 cd and choose "R" repair in the begining.
choose win installation and write administrator password.
run checkdisk. write "chkdsk /R". enter

2. write "fixmbr c:" enter
and "fixboot c:" enter

3. if 1 & 2 doesent work boot again in repair mode and try this

Windows 2003 server not booting ,due to ntoskml.exe file missing

Hi

this happens if the boot.ini file gets corrupted, i would suggest u to boot the Computer wid ur sever CD and select repair option.

  1. Reboot the computer, as the computer is starting you should see a message to press any key to boot from the CD. When you see this message press anykey.
  2. In the Microsoft Windows setup menu press the R key to enter the recovery console.
  3. Select the operating system you wish to fix, and then enter the administrator password.
  4. Type expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32
  5. You will then be prompted if you wish to overwrite the file type Y and press enter to overwrite the file.
  6. Type exit to reboot the computer.
Note : d: is ur cd drive

Hope it helps u

Good Day

There is no problem i want free antivirus for win 2003 server edi

try avir antivirus personal edition, which is the free version. it works fine, is pretty light and will only give you a popup window to upgrade when you update the program or virus file.

Dhcp in server 2003 in domain not working

Windows 2003 server supports DHCP. If you don't see in Administrative tool DHCP maybe the DHCP role is not enabled. You can add this role in "Manage your server". You don't need to reinstall win 2003 server.
Another way to access DHCP management tool is: in command prompt type mmc and then File> "Add remove snap-in" then "Add" and select DHCP.

Booting error

What I would do is take the hard drive (1) out of that machine and put into an another pc - xp would be fine. Now go to the root of harddrive (1) and edit the boot.ini file. you will see an entry similar to this ......
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /FASTDETECT

All you need to do is make sure you know which disk you're using (c drive is 0 usually) and the partition should be set to 1 for regular installations.

Did you add any drives lately? or make any changes to your OS?
