Overload fault in the power supply or a short in one of its load circuits. In some cases, the low voltage (including B+) will just be reduced to a fraction of their normal value as a result of an overload on one of the outputs - usually the main B+.This may be caused by a shorted rectifier in the power supply, flyback, or even the yoke, but check the the loads first.

My HP D530C does not power on. The power LED flashes 4 times. What is the fault? Pls let me know asap. Thanks.

HP xw6200 Workstation - Diagnostic LED Code: Four Flashes ISSUE: When the workstation is powered on, the front LED might flash red four times, once per second, followed by a two second pause. SOLUTION: The front LED flashing four times is a sign of a power failure. To fix this issue, complete the following steps:
  1. Open the access panel, and check to see if the four-wire power supply cable is properly connected to the system board.
  2. There may be a faulty device. Locate it by removing all devices and then reinstalling them one at a time until the workstation fails. Replace the device causing the failure. Continue adding devices to ensure all are functioning properly.
  3. Verify the power supply functionality, as follows:
    1. Disconnect AC power.
    2. Remove all internal power supply cables from the system board.
    3. Plug in AC power.
      • If the power supply fan spins, and the BIST LED illuminates, then the power supply is good. Replace the system board.
      • If the power supply fan does not spin, or the BIST LED does not illuminate, replace the power supply.

Fuse for gx150 power supply

The fuse is located inside the ATX switch mode power supply and it is solder onto the circuit. There are dangerous voltages inside this power supply. I suggest you get a new switch mode power supply because failure of a component inside the power supply has caused the fuse to blow and replacing the fuse would most likely not fix the power supply.

Powes ups then dies

Do a visual inspection of the Electrolytic Capacitors on the motherboard first.

Then check the power supply with a power supply tester, (About $15), OR replace the power supply with a known, good one for a test.

I have a hp pavilion a705w bout 12-30-04 it wont boot most times

That's because it has a failing power supply. I post this a lot. Why? Because 70% or more of computer failure, is directly related to the power supply. Next up is Electrolytic Capacitor failure on the motherboard, (The 'Caps' that surround the processor, more specifically. These are Voltage Regulators for the processor)

Then harddrive failure.

Many times you'll see a solution posted to use a Restoration disk, or System Restore. This is just a 'Band-Aid' approach. The power supply, for you, is the problem.

My Compaq Presario will not start since we had a power failure in our town yesterday. It seems like it is unplugged, but it is plugged in. Can you help?

Can you check if the power is connected to the ac outlet, and if the cpu has a power. If no power in the cpu even the power cord is pluuged in the outlet of the power source the problem is your power supply. Maybe the fuse blow up when the power is back after the power failure. But sometimes the cpu has no power but the monitor have a power it's also power supply failure the dc output of power supply is not working. the best solution is to replace the power supply with the same wattages or higher.
