Barbara, is your windows uptodate? If not, update it. Then check drivers if uptodate. If not, download DriverMAX free and scan. I had a realtek message relating to driver.

Ever time I move around the Lind change.also it happend when I has messing around in the setting. It's not the monitor because I tried it on another computer and it works.

It looks like the video card or adapter in the computer is going out. It could be a driver issue though. You need to post the make and model of the computer and the operating system

My computer powers up and the fan starts and then gets really loud and fast.

Is it the fan for the power supply?

I assume that you are talking about the fan getting really loud and fast. If you are taling about the computer, then I say turn the speakers down and load up a game as quick as possible cause you have a killer rig.

No booable device can't retrieve windows 7

not sure what you are referring to no bootable device whether you want to load an operating system if yes

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or the F2 key

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the using arrow key scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system

(note after you have loaded the operating system you should go back and change the first boot device to your failsafe or optimized defaults)
after windows has loaded

your computer will automatically restart it might restart 2 times one to finish the installation
the next will be because the operating system is loaded and will boot from your cd

during the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load

failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
otherwise it will keep booting from the cd /dvd drive

hope this helps

To start my computer takes 15min and to shut down the same time??

it means that lots of applications are loaded at startup.
first go to start-> all programs -> start up.
you shouldn't have anything there except if a program is really needed at startup.

then go to start --> run --> type msconfig and press enter.
go to startup and see if any items are loaded at startup that shouldn't be there. (quick time, acrobat, etc)

Cant reboot to factory setting forgot password

When you get the 'acer' screen at startup Hold down ALT and keep pressing F10. You need to be quick, it took several attempts for me.

This takes it back to factory settings, but if you have anything stored on a second hard drive it should remain untouched (back it up to be safe).

Acer Aspire L100 overheating

You could try a new cpu fan and heatsink. They are normally inexpensive. if this does not work make sure all the case fans are working and check to see if your ram is overheating
