Ironically your PIP module is most likely the culprit as they were very common to cause issues on those years of Mitsubishi TV's. The problem is they are NLA and hard to get

G'day mate

To all accounts it does, this can be checked by verifying that it has TWO antenna inputs. To get the PIP working, you will need to split and feed both antenna inputs. Seems to be set up this way to cater to PIP with set top boxes/convertors that have RF outputs

the 2 tuners can be spotted as the shielded assemblies with covers either side in the lower right corner of this pic. There is a mod floating around that involves bypassing the PIP to fix a fault that the set develops. This may have been done to your already.

check here for details.

Hope this helps you. A fixya rating is a great thankyou for my efforts to assist you . Cheers

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.

There is a quick test you can do to determine if the problem is in your PIP module, using two 4.7uf/50v electrolytic capacitors. The PIP module plugs into two connectors on the main board. Remove the PIP module, and on connector VP on the main board (the 11 pin connector), use one cap to jumper from pin 7 to 9 (negative lead on pin 9); and use the other cap to jumper from pin 5 to 11 (negative lead on pin 11). If the PIP module is bad, you will now have video. The PIP module has surface mount capacitors that go bad. Just make sure you solder a small lentgh of wire to the capacitor leads to prevent them from shorting as they cross over each other. Just plug the wires into the socket no need to solder them.

Vertical sync problem. This issue could be related to faulty capacitors on the PIP module, as the vertical sync runs through the PIP module. If you would like to know how to by pass the module to test if it is the PIP module let me know and will post the procedure.

You might have a bad PIP board, When you say NO picture. Is it totally blacked out or blacked out with "blue snow". The PIP has been alot of problems in this chassis and you will experience what your describing. Capacitors are the root of the PIP boards failure. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Main screen color seems overmodulating. PIP subfeed color fine. White like under black light.

rule number one about all vs chassis with vertical can pip boards take them out and throw them away i could fix one but you couldnt beleive me and it wouldnt be worth your while do a search on your modle number until you come up with instructions on how to add two caps to the pip board connector to bypass it until you do this you are wasting your time Mitsubishi ... we're still building Zeros
