Is the monitor plugged in properly?
Can you get to the BIOS? --> Does it display the words on the screen during the boot process before the Windows Splash screen?
I'm not sure what setup in the blue color means. If it's the BSOD or Blue Screen of death then let it cool (power it off) and boot again later. Perhaps a heat issue. If you do actually get it to boot copy your most critical data off the hard drive quickly.
Could be a lot of things.

Did you install any hardware or windows updates? The reason its restarting is its getting a blue screen error but its setup to restart on error so its happening so fast you dont get to see the error..... Try hitting F8 right after the boot screen to get some windows options and try to enter into safemode.... If you can odds are its related to a windows update or something newly installed

I have a eMachine t5246. My hard drive went bad, very bad, couldn't get it to even get wiped out so. my eMachine disc won't start up. It is the operating disc but every time it says install and...

If the hard drive failed you will first need to replace it with a working hard drive. One that is done, power on the computer with the recovery disc is the drive and enter setup. It should say something like press F9 or F10 for Setup. Look through the menus for "Boot Order", make sure your CD/DVD drive is above hard drive. Save the changes and reboot, you should get a message "Press any key to boot to disc" or something similar, do so, and follow the prompts to re-install windows.

Screen has shrunk

Click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system also you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal , larger or custom settings
Always click APPLY after making any changes windows 7 Open Personalization by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization. Click Window Color and Appearance. Under Window Color and Appearance, click the color you want, and then click OK. Note If you see the Appearance Settings dialog box instead of the Window Color and Appearance window, the theme might not be set to Windows Vista, the color scheme might not be set to Windows Aero, or the computer might not meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows Aero. For more information, see Troubleshoot problems with Windows Aero. Hope this helps.

Had a virus called windows vista 2012 update in my computer. I had Hit Man Pro 3.5 do a fix on my computer and now my computer wont boot up on normal setting. I can only boot up computer on Safe Mode...

If your computer was setup to restore to a previous timeline, you could try that first. If not, you could see if your antivirus and antimalware scanner will work in safemode which it may. If you have another desktop, you could remove the HD from the infected PC, plug it into the 2nd PC (that you know is clean) and run the scanners to remove the infected files. If it still won't load, pop in the Windows installation CD and choose Repair. If it still won't work, then backup the data in Safe Mode and do a clean installation. If you go this route, make sure to scan your backup data media before you use them.

Thank you for using FixYa

I highly recommend the newest Linux Mint ver. 11. The Gnome Desktop is more flexible than Windows and all the major corporations, governments, schools, use open source now. Most people don't know that even Android is actually a version of Linux. Some people like Ubuntu distro. You can download the operating system for free, if you have a computer to use then you can burn a cd for it, or just pay for shipping and have one in a few days. You can even purchase it on a USB. There are over 30,000 apps. readily available, and more.

See this link below

http://distrowatch.com/

Keep in mind that your computer may have only lost it's setup, could have a bad battery, on the motherboard, or may have a bad hard drive, or other problems. There is no absolute gurantee that a new OS will actually fix it, but you have the link to try if you choose. Since it is almost free even if you have to order it, you can't go wrong. I would give it a try. It is a cheap way to get an old computer working.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

Can i use my emachine recovery disk on my gateway after i install a new hard drive on my gateway?

No, you can't. (Well, it might be possible, but very unlikely, that it would work.) Recovery discs are made for specific machines. There are a couple of reasons why the discs for one system can't be used for another brand or model.

In addition to installing the operating system (Windows), recovery discs also include drivers for the machine's included hardware (video, sound, media card slots, etc.). The drivers on the recovery disc for an eMachines system won't have what a Gateway system needs, unless they were built using exactly the same motherboard and other parts, which would be quite unusual. If wrong hardware drivers are installed, Windows may not start and give you the famous "blue screen of death". Or Windows will start, then begin finding new hardware and asking you for drivers you won't have (although you could find them at the Gateway website). The discs also include the applications the manufacturer preloaded on the system. Some of these may not work and cause problems because of the hardware differences (a sound control program with the wrong sound hardware, for instance).

The other reason is that a restore disc also includes information that gets placed into Windows so the system comes up already activated and ready to go. Activation is based on information about the hardware configuration of the system, and yours won't be correct. Windows will see the this and you'll need to activate manually. If the Windows version on the eMachines recovery disc isn't exactly the same as the one on the Gateway, the product key on the computer won't work when you try activation.

Rather than try using the wrong recovery disc, see if you can borrow or download the installation disc for the Windows version specified on the product key sticker on the Gateway. Then you can do a clean new Windows installation and activate it using the product key. You can find the drivers your computer needs at Gateway's website as I mentioned before. It's more work than just running the recovery disc, but it will work. This does mean the system won't have any of the preloaded applications originally on the computer when you're finished. But this is not a bad thing.

Much of the preloaded stuff on a new computer is often called "bloatware", which you really don't need. It just slows the computer down, uses up Windows resources, and may be gathering information and sending it to sites behind your back. You can find good free programs to do anything originally installed and install only what you really need and want. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

CD/DVD burning: CDBurnerXP
Antivirus: AVG, Avast!
Audio processing: Audacity
Image processing: GIMP
Office suite: OpenOffice

Good luck getting the system back up and running. Thanks for using Fixya!

Still having trouble with EMachines T3882

I feel your pain. I finally moved my pc to a room with no windows! But seriously, try a different monitor first. See if you can borrow someone's to just try it before you do anything else. If that borrowed monitor works fine, then you know what the problem is. (Which I believe is the problem.) By the way, what started all of your problems?
