After you beg, borrow, buy a ESD wrist strap... and take lots of pictures of EXACTLY WHAT EVERYTHING looks like...

Take a look at the board with the most metal showing:
Main power board... would be an EXCELLENT first guess.
(main board would be your next guess)...

Calling it an iterative process sounds the best (guessing!!).

Write that number down... (and the other while you're there)!!

Then go onto eBay with your model number and see what conventional (cyber) wisdom has to say... (The input voltages may be different... but the principle functions all work the same).

On the TV there should be a MENU button. It might be located on the side of the TV. Try holding that button in and see if that solves the problem. LMK if that works. Good luck!

You need to contact sony on this one. I am pretty sure that is a 720 model. 1-800-222-7669

Change input device and see. Connect the same input to a different TV and see. Most probably it could be due to some loose contacts.

Have you checked the cables to the TV make sure they are all tight. Also try bypassing any connections between the receiver and TV.

2. Simultaneously hold down the Vol+ and Vol- buttons on the front of the TV. Do not use the remote control.
