Constantly my printer displays a message "error 36" and will not print. The only option I have at the moment is constantly turning my printer off at the power point and turning back on.

Hi,

Go to system settings and select the 'Printer' option.

Right-click on the printer and enable the 'Use Printer Online' function.

Cancel all the printing jobs till that moment and redo the process.

Sometimes the 'Printer Offline' message occurs due to a 'Job Stuck' issue.

Check all network connections and functions.

Be sure the network interfaces work properly.

Turn the printer off and on to see whether the device is working properly.

I have a message on my display screen that says "unable to print 36" What does that mean and how do I fix it?

36 usually means that a paper is jammed. You will have to open it up and manually remove the paper.

Error code 36 is generally because of a paper jam that was not cleared. Remove the rear jam cover (the plastic cover in the back center of the machine)and the paper tray and check for any pieces of paper. Sometimes just a scrap will remain, but it's enough to cause the machine to not work.

Once you've replaced the covers, if the jam code does not reset, turn the machine off and then back on.

ImageCLASS 2300 not printing, check printer cover message

Had the same problem spent 2 hours opening and closing everything trying to reset turn off and on etc. Here is how I fixed it, slammed all the doors on left side starting with above cartridge to cartridge door and 2 little doors by paper hard - and I mean hard - and whammo error cleared immediately. Sensors that check for open door obviously stick and report they are open when they are really closed. I am sure this saved me an expensive service call.
