I set a parental control password on my alba lcd32880hdf 2 years ago and can't remember what it is. Can I reset it?

When you said this: They said: turn on the DVD player. Hit "set-up". Scroll down to the "lock" icon. Scroll over to "Rating". Scroll over to unlock. Enter 0000. Click on Ok. Enter 0000 again, click Ok again. Menu should read unlock. Voila!, is that dvd on the tv or a normal dvd player

I do not remember the parental code that i inputed years ago can you help?

Hi try this:

Press and hold the CH (up/down) button on the front panel of your unit for more than 5 seconds with no disc, and then press the POWER OFF/ON button. All settings including password will revert to factory settings. Do not use it if not absolutely required. (Note that this function is available only when there is no disc inserted.)

My nephew put a code for movies, he forgot the code

Here is the procedure to reset the parental lock code:
  1. Bring up a screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup menu and go to "parental control" under GA_googleFillSlot("TL-IMU-Article"); custom setup.
  2. When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444".
  3. The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock entirely by setting it to "off".
  4. Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save your settings.
A note for parents: If you're wondering what is stopping your child from using the above procedure to circumvent your rules, you can verify that they haven't reset the parental control very easily. Since the above procedure eliminates the old password entirely, all you need to do is see if your original password still works. If it does, they did not use the above procedure to break the rules. If it doesn't, they might be trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

The parental lock is on and I don't know the four digit password

My husband was playing with our remote and accidently put parental lock on. We could play cd's but not dvd's. Here is what I did. Go to the set up menu. Arrow over to the parental control and press enter. Arrow down to where to put your password in. Enter 0000 this is the factory default code. It will ask you to enter it again. then return to the main menu. I turned mine off with the remote then turned it back on, put a dvd in and it worked. My husband was ready to go buy a new dvd player. Power to the women!!! Hope it helps you.

Parental Controls

I am having the same problem. I have a Mintek 2110, but lost the remote control. I found this code on the Time Warner Cable site. 2096. I'm going to try and plug it into my universal remote this evening. If that works, the default passcode should be 88888. That's what I remember my code being years ago.
