Avic z 140 bh can't recogonize voice cammands


I have the same problem - I gave up on the voice command feature which was the main reason I bought the AVIC 140. I called Pioneer and they tried to help but the technician said I had to speak very clearly. Multiple people tried the voice commands with the car parked and off and it still couldn't recognize a single command. My microphone works perfectly so I know it isn't that. I give the overall rating on this device a 2 out of 5. I could go on for pages about the unfriendly user interface.

in the AM frequency range, it is very hard to stop any type of interference because of the low bandwidth and not a lot can be done to suppress it, and where this band is in the frequency spectrum. There should be an AM loop on the back of your receiver, and if there is not, maybe that is why the AM reception is so poor. You can also be a better AM antenna from an electronics store to hook up to your receiver. Like I said, not a lot that can be done for interference my friend.

Str-685 has poor fm reception. have tried 3 different antennas.


If you are sure with the antennae then the fault is with the RF section within, It can be related to a faulty RF section, tuner or IF. You need to take a signal test to confirm.

NAD T760 FM stereo not working

There are three fuses with your NAD surround receiver.

Reference No Part Number Description

Check them first and inform me which one has blown out. I'll give you detais after that. OK.

I have a 1970's Sony AM Receiver ICR-9. Reception is poor and sounds almost like it is receiving on another band. It has been a great radio and would like to retain. Bill


Do you use an indoor antenna ? Nowadays, with all gear around, like micro-waves receptors, strong motors, satellites, etc., reception becomes quite poor, unless you use an external antenna, properly set to catch broadcast stations. FM reception particularly has its signal much improved in that way. Correct demodulation requires a good an somewhat large outdoor antenna. Hope I could help. Good Luck.

Background sounds louder than voices


get the graphical user interface up on the TV,and adjust your sound levels.some amps also have supplied microphones for setting up their sound levels.you want about +8 DB on centre channel

My microphone will not pick my voice well. How do i fix that? i can hear sounds well but that's it.


can you tell me a little more about your problem

  1. what sort of mic
  2. are you using a mixer with microphone gain adjustment
  3. is it a computer you are plugging into
  4. do you have a recording of the problem I can listen to

I need help!!! my headset is buzzing lol


check the audio setting. If AUX is turned on instead of Microphone, it will cut out because its waiting for an input from another source.

make sure the LINE-IN isnt turned on or the S/pdif-in.

Only have on the ( PLAYBACK, WAVE, CD AUDIO, MIDI, and Microphone. And there not muted or turned down.


If its USB it may need drivers but they should have come on a CD with it.

Also make sure that if your using sound card, that its set up in the audio properties to be the audio renderer

Pc microphone


Please try this on another PC else if you are sure that its not functioning try recording your voice from Voice recorder From Accessories> Entertainment > Sound recorder.

And Also see that its not muted.
