tough luck buddy, this system is sh!t. i'm on my second and have now got a similar problem with the second system. I eventually took a pen knife to the first unit to get the dvd out and then managed to get a rented dvd stuck in the machine a week later.
We had a power surge during a thunderstorm that dimmed our lights, and after that the CD opened as normal.
A friend suggested that I pull the power connector, press the open/close button and hold it down as I reconnected the power connector. The power surge beat me to that, so I don't know if it works. It was more than "Tech Support" could offer however.
Since it is unusable try this. It might help to have so\meone assist if the unit is heavy.
Raise unit and lower the tray end about 45 degrees down, while lightly shaking press the tray open, they might just fall out.
