You can get this BIOS here(see link), but I wouldn't advise flashing the BIOS unless you know what you're doing.

How to rename batch files easily without the use of any external application

In windows operating system it is very simple to rename a group of files in a folder.<br />step 1:go to the folder where the group of files are located.<br />step 2:right click on the empty space of the window.<br />step 3: select "new",then select "text document".<br />step 4: open the newly created text document by double clicking it.<br />step 5: then type in the the following command "@ren".<br />there are some more texts that should be entered after "@ren",those texts are associated with the contexts which are discussed after the next step.<br />step 6:save the file as ren.bat in the same folder.double click the file ren.bat to carry out the batch file renaming.<br />context 1: suppose u dont want to change the name of files on the folder but u want change the extension u want to change a group of files having '.exe' extension to '.zip' extension, then at step 5 enter the following commands..<br />"@ren *.exe *.zip"<br />context 2:suppose if u want to add a phrase as a preflix or as a suffix to a group of file, say u want to add the word "sony" as a prefix to a group of photos of extension in a folder then at step 5 enter the text as<br /> "@ren *.jpg sony*.jpg"<br />if u want it as suffix, then write<br />"@ren *.jpg *sony.jpg"<br />then follow remaining steps

Computer wont boot up

If you have one of those generic motherboards with Intel chipset, socket 478, 2 or 3 PCI slots in a mini ATX form so, don't waste your time and buy a new one. Some time ago I replaced it with a cheap Biostar P4M80-M4 and is much better.

Hello ,

Use this link

Thats a bootable cd image that i made containing the latest bios for your board (R01-B4) and a flash utility. This bios has been modified to include overclocking options and extra features which are not in the standard bios!

Burn this image to a cd and boot into the DOS Prompt. At the prompt type the following

awdflash.exe 61AO427.bin /py /sn /cc /r

wait for it to finish reflashing the bios , then eject the disc and restart.

Dell C640 change touchpad settings

I read on this a while then found these 2 packages and downloaded from DELL's site:

I installed the R49155.EXE and got 2 more tabs in the properties window for my mouse (Start + Control Panel + Mouse).

In the new "Device Settings" tab I can either totally disable the touchpad or in "Settings", just disable the "TAP to click"; which is the feature causing the cursor to bounce all over.

Also in the active application section of the launch bar, lower right next to clock, an ICON is now present and "TAP to click" is an option, which I can now easily inable/disable; after opening the ICON with a click.

As I understand it, R46325.EXE is the R49155.EXE on steroids, but did not need that.

Wiring a P4M80-M4 mother board

You can download the manual for the motherboard here, just click on the "manual" link:

This will list the front panel connections, which are 2 pins. Each of the jumpers, what you are calling clips, will connect two of the pins. Most cases have the jumpers labeled, i.e. power, reset, etc. But if they are not, it is usually: red/white = HDD led; green/white = power led; red/black = speaker; black/green = power switch; and black/white = reset. But your case may use a different wiring spec, but should list somewhere which wire is for which function.

Biostar M4M70-M4 mounting question

Of course it could make a difference. Any contact between an active voltage on a motherboard and the metal of the case will fry the motherboard and possibly the P/S. There are different sizes of standoffs to fit different cases and motherboards. Sometimes if a person doesn't use a sufficient number of standoffs, one corner or another of the motherboard can be inadvertently bent toward the case ground causing a short. Even the raised mounds you speak of need standoffs of some type if the surface of the raised mound encrouches upon a surface of the motherboard that has voltage on it.
