You need a new lcd screen.

Replacing the upper screen is by far the hardest to fix, it requires you to feed the LCD ribbon through a hole ¼” wide, you also need to be able to desolder and resolder the speakers on the new LCD ribbon, then feed the new ribbon back through the hole, it’s not that easy.

My little brother droppe my psp it charges but when you turn it on the light goes on for 3 seconds but it shows no pictures

With the PSP The screen in it is very delicate, I have replaced hundreds of broken screens like this if you can find someone to open it and check pulling the top plate off will atleast let you see if the damage is on the screen or not. there will be a crack most likely in the middle along the blackest part of the screen.

My top ds screen is white and i have an R4. the bottom screen is fine though. help!

the problem may be that the screen cord may have been cut from the bottom screen so that is why you cant see the top screen so go get it checked by gamestop or other video game stores

My ds lite wont power on how can i fix it?

One of you're screens is broken or the F2 fuse has blown.

Check youtube for a video on "how to check my DS lite F2 fuses" there are several available that give step by step guidance on how to do this.

Having checked these (and replaced blown ones) and you're screens are still not working then it is a screen that has blown.

If the bottom screen flashes for a split second when you turn it on then it is you're TOP screen that has blown and needs to be replaced. If it doen't flash then it is you're bottom screen that is broken and needs to be replaced.

Is it possible for the DS to work without the top screen...

technically no as you need both screens to be plugged in but ive heard that you can get a link cable to link both screens but haven't actually tried it myself so cant be sure it will work.

Top screen has become feint and unreadable, this happened during use and not as a result of a n impact

over time this can happen your top screen has started to go. you can either fix it yourself by buying a new top screen or having someone service it for you.

if you want to tackle it by yourself then we would be more then happy to share the steps involved in doing so.

Onceturned on, the green light goes on, the touch screen flashes white, then it all turns off.

You might only have a loosen screen ribbon cable.

If not careful while taking out the top screen ribbon you can damage it causing blank screens and finally the DS wont work.

The solution to a broken top screen ribbon is to replace the whole screen in DS lite or buy the ribbon cable in the DS fat and replace.

If the broken top screen ribbon is caused by broken hinge then you should replace the shell also to avoid other broken screen.

DS Lite's top screen has horizontal black lines

i found a REALLY easy solution! the most likley problem is that there is dust in the GBA/DS game card slot! it corrupts the connectors (i dont want 2 explain how it gets into the system) so step one: wrap a small peice of tissue around the stylus(make sure DS is turned ON)
step two: LIGHTLY go inside the GBA/DS slot with the tissue wrapped stylus.
step three: shut down DS system and turn on again
problem solved! hope this helps.

Picture faded with white broken lines

Hi, the problems you describe are indeed related... the cable that carries the data from the lower section (mainboard) to the top screen is also responsible for the sound and the speakers are connected to this cable near the top LCD screen. It sounds like the cable has become damaged and will need replacing which unfortunatley means a new top screen due to the way the cable is connected to the screen. I come across this problem frequently and I charge customers £35 for a replacement screen and fitting.
