Question about Olympus Stylus 710 Digital Camera

Can't transfer photos

For the past three years my camera has been working perfectly, absolutely no problems. then, yesterday, when i went to transfer new photos from the camera to my pc, i got the following message box:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\OLYMPUS\OLYMPUS Master\OLYMPUS Master.exe

abnormal program termination

when i click "ok" it closes the program (Olympus Master) and the pictures don't transfer. I have tried restoring to the last day it worked, as well as uninstalling ans reinstalling the software. neither have worked and i do not know what to do

Windows does not need it- it can do it all by its self.

Hi, I have a Belling BEL GJS20 microwave for the past three years. It was working so perfectly for all these days. In fact I would say it was the best one I ever had. But yesterday, it broke down....

What a coincidence! I have had my Belling GJS20 for 4 years and yesterday the exact same thing has happened to mine, hence me being on the net and finding your question. Hope someone is able to help us.

Hi there.
You may not like this solution, but it's real anyway. Average low-end digital camera life span is approximately 2 years depending on how much you use it. They vary between manufacturer. Low-end cameras ($100. to $200. range) have an approximate 1500 to 3000 shutter clicks which equates to about 1 cent per photo. Granted, more expensive cameras equal more shutter clicks and thusly and lower cost ratio. So, I'm sorry to say that you have just about hit the life span of your device. It would cost more to fix than to purchase a new one.
I hope this helps you, but no one here can suggest a "fix" for it. Thanks for coming to FixYa, and feel free to rate my solution.

PC doesn't recognise camera

Click on the start button, then right click on my computer and select manage. In the computer management panel that opens click on Disk management.
In the right hand window find the drive that is labeled as a removable drive, probably disk 2 or 3 depending on how many hard drives you have on your PC and whether you have other componants attached( card readers etc.) Right click the removable drive and select explore.

A new window opens, double click DCIM, then double click 101_PANA. There are your pictures. select them all (ctrl A) and right click then copy (or ctrl C). you can now paste the images into whichever folder you wish to use. just open the folder where you store your photos and click edit and then paste ( or ctrl V).

This doesn't solve your problem of Xp not opening the camera and scanner transfer wizard (I am having the same problem) but will allow you to transfer your photos to your computer.

Suddenly unable to transfer photos into Nikon Picture Perfect

How are you transferring the photos? Are you using a cable, or a card reader? If you are using a cable then most likely the cable went bad. I have a D-1 and a D-2, and I never use the firewire cable. I put the CF cards into a card reader. If you are not using a card reader then try that. You can get a decent one from E-Film or from most any computer store.

One more step to try, did you format the card in the camera when you first loaded the card in? On my cameras you need to format that card to have them work with the camera.

Transfering pictures on from a different camera.

Try re-installing the driver software. Ensure that all the electrical contacts on the camera, cables and dock are clean and free from obstruction. If all else fails, USB card readers are cheap, and handy for other things. This is what I use.
