Question about Onkyo TX-DS494 Receiver

2 Answers

Our new Emerson All Alert Clock Radio, CKW2000 has had all three advisory lights(WARNING,WATCH and STATEMENT) flashing for three days even though we are getting no scrolled message and no broadcast message is coming from NWR. In fact the weather is beautiful here. For your inoormation, the radio is set on our County's code the S.A.M.E as your instructions provide How do I get these lights to stop flashing? Thank you for your help. Wm. Robertson

I am having the same problem as you 3 lights flashing for days now. I emailed Emerson Research and have not received any reply from them. Did you find out what is going on yet? Would greatly appreciate a fix!

Yeah sorry, I did get the problem fixed. I did nothing! And all of a sudden the 3 lights stopped flashing.

I guess someone at the station must of fell asleep on the switches or something.

We are under a winter advisory but no lights are on

The National Weather Service (NWS) has certain criteria for issuing warnings, watches and advisories. They do not issue a warning, watch or advisory if the circumstances are "not" severe enough for them to sound the alarm. If you thinking this is a useless piece of junk, its not. This thing really does work and I have proof. Back in September, our area was under a Flash Food Warning and the weather radio sounded more than once. This meant the conditions we were having were severe enough for the NWS to sound the alarm. Your winter advisory was not severe enough for the NWS to sound the alarm. To find out more about their criteria go to http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/nwrwarn.htm. Hope this sheds some light on your situation.

Can my alarm clock be changed to automatically change for the new day light savings times? I have one clock and I bought one just like mine for my mother.

(http://www.emersonradio.com/dst.htm) Copy this web link and paste it into the address bar of the browser. It will take you to the Emerson customer support web page. On this page is the update for setting the day light saving time function on your clock/radio. You may also have to replace the internal battery in the clock/radios to keep it working up to date. The battery usually has a three year life span. This may be shorten by power outages and leaving the radios unplugged for long periods of time. I hope this information helps you with your problem.(http://www.emersonradio.com/dst.htm) Copy this web link and paste it into the address bar of the browser. The Weather Alert

You may have programmed the wrong county code...check out http://www.weather.gov/nwr/indexnw.htm#sametable and double check the code you have in your clock. If you have the correct code programmed, double check your "defeat siren" preferences...although it looks like you have already checked that.

Troublshooting my clock radio CKW2000 Emerson Research All Alert Clock Radio

I don't know if it work for everybody, but, I took out three of the batteries, then unplugged the radio and plugged it back in. That just left the bottom light blinking, I then pressed the power button on and back off. I had to reset time and date, but it got rid of the flashing lights.

I had the same problem...I removed the clock from the power source and took out all the batteries. I then put them all back in and plugged it back up. The lights stopped flashing! I did have to reprogram the date and time but all the county codes and defeated siren preferences were saved! Definately worth it.
