F2 error. Can't empty tub? Probably clogged outlet. How do I get to it?

machine is Kenmore version of Whirlpool Duet front loader, model 110.4559100.

  • KentCardinal Jul 17, 2008

I'm there. Found $0.55, two machine screws and a kitty toy in there. Still didn't pump. Pulled the machine out, took the back off and checked out the waste pipe. That was clear. Then pulled the boot of the bottom of the drum housing. Whoa! Sponge in the sump! Plus an accumulation of fluff etc. No wonder the pump was cavitating.

Looks like the issue is solved.

Also kudo's to the person who suggested sucking the water from the drum with a wet/dry vac. Saved lots of labor.

What is error code F2 on my AEG washing machine

I believe that this is a "Pump Blockage" error. You need to locate and clean out your empty pump filter (Probably behind a little door on the bottom of the machine. You may also need to check the empty pipe and the drain it goes into are also clear. 99% probability of a blocked filter

Kenmore Elite Oasis HE washer error code F2

The error code must be cleared first to make the machine back into operation. You have to press the PAUSE/CANCEL button twice to clear the error on the display.

The only filter the machine has is the one you removed to clean the pump. When the error is cleared, you can check the pump whether it is operating properly or not by running the diagnostic test.

Diagnostic Test Mode Procedure

  1. Close the door.
  2. Select the DRAIN/SPIN.
  3. Select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SELECT button.
  4. Press RINSE/HOLD or PREWASH OPTION button four times within five seconds.
  5. "C:00" will show on the display indicating that the door is locked and the diagnostic test starts.
  6. Press the button you pressed in step 4 above two times. "C:01" will show on the display and the machine starts to fill.
  7. Press PAUSE/CANCEL button two times when there's enough water inside the tub to stop the test.
  8. Observe the water level falls as the pump starts draining the water. Replace the pump if the water inside the tub does not drain. You have removed and cleaned the pump so you can easily replace it too.
Please inform me about the result of the diagnostic test and if you still need any assistance regarding this problem.

Get F2 error what do I do?

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This indicates that you have an obstruction in the drainage system. More than likely you probably have a clog in the drain pump. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

Included is a follow-on link that explains how to check the drain pump to clean. You may also have to remove the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. Debris can commonly clog in this area as well causing the drain cycle to fail.

If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

Front Load Washing Machine

Yes, probably a slow drain. F2 can indicate a long drain time. Press pause/cancel twice to clear. Disconnect the power to your washer, and clean the strainer. It is located behind the kick panel, between the drum and the pump. Remove the debris and clean. Caution, you will get water! Have something ready to catch it. Reassemble. Put the washer on the hottest setting available and run an empty, extended load with bleach. It may be necessary to do it more than once, but perservere, you'll get it. Run a last, empty load with just plain water, to flush the remainder out. This should do it.

Error code LD

I had this problem also. Ld means that it is taking too long for the tub to drain, usually something is clogged. Try taking a shop vac and sucking out the drain hose that goes into the wall drain. This should at least get you where the tub will finish the cycle you have going. I tried this and it worked for about 2 loads then "Ld" again. Finally removed the drain pump from the washer and let it empty completely. So far this has worked.

My washer wont empty out while spining.

The drain line is probably clogged. Maybe that a small sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump. To remove it from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub and try to remove the clothing through the port. Good luck

Lg Front loading washing machine

most times on the Lg washer the lint trap is clogged and something may be hitting the impeller on the pump and causing it not to drain. remove the plastic cover on the lower left bottom and unscrew the black lint filter at the pump. you will get water on the floor there is no way to avoid that. clean the trap and make sure there is nothing inside the housing to block the pump impeller. replace the trap and run a rince cycle to check for proper draining.
