You need to charge your system only once. If you have to recharge the system with freon ever so often ,It means that you have a leak somewhere in the line.

sounds like your compressor is getting hot and shutting down have you washed your outside condenser coil? Could be dirty causeing high head pressure and shuts your compressor down. Try washing your condenser coil I think this will help you. If not you may be low on charge of Freon.

HAVE A VERY OLD CENTRAL AC UNIT NOT COOLING. DO YOU YOU WHAT COULD BE WRONG

Hello, usually when a air conditioner does not cool it falls into a airflow problem or a low refrigerant charge. The first thing to check is the condition of your air filter, blower wheel, and evaporator coil make sure they are clean. If that checks out good then most likely your air conditioner has a low refrigerant charge due to a leak. In this case you will need a technician to come out and repair the leak.

I have a Concord air conditioner, central heat and

You can try getting it serviced. Vacuuming the system and charging it up with new refrigerant, as well as replacing the reciever drier, will help tweak your AC system. This is no guarantee though. It might be able to bring the temp in your house down several more degrees. Also try cleaning the condenser outside. You can spray it with water to clean off dirt which block air from passing through. This hepls a bit and you can do it yourself.

How do i put freon in my central heat and air my central heat and air unit is a payne

This job is best done by service tech. You have to know what your doing to be able to charge a system. Plus you have to have EPA card to handle Refrigerant. You need to call service tech. Remember if you have to put gas in there isa leak. Make sure they look for one if you ahve it recharged. A unit can run forever on the same gas. Cost of chargeing an AC can very from 100 to 300 dollars. My suggestion is to ask for a free estimate. So you know up front what it will cost. Rus

Charging a central air conditioner in the cold weather

The copper tubing has cracked and water has leaked onto my roof. I have shut off the water valve that runs to the aircodtioner but cannot get someone over until the morning. It is a cold night. Will this be sufficient until I can get someone over in the morning. It's not that cold but there is a possible storm coming thru.
