Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

R52WH74 My kids set a drink atop the TV and yes, it fell. The TV won't turn on now. I'm wondering it it may be a fuse. I removed the back of the TV and I have no idea where to look for the appropriate fuse. Can you assist me?

Which way did the drink spill.. back or front. I must ask the same question that rope steer ask does the power led turn on.. if it does this is an indication that it will not be a main fuse... if not then likely the main fuse has been opened but being a liquid spill i would tend to say there will be more damage.. what type of liquid was spill ... coke water milk..that could be a big factor also.. There are two main boards in the back that liquid can reach. the small signal and the main power board.. the fuse on this unit is sort of in the middle of the tv.. if you follow the main cord inside it leads to a small cuicit board in front of a larger green board. WARNING this set can and does hold up to 340 volts even with the set upluged...BE carefull..the board with the main fuse holds this charge

Your fuse will be on the main board just after the power cord inlet. Maybe in a small black box that the top opens on.

Why won't my TV turn back on even manually??
total dead usually means the fuse---unplug the set for safety and remove back cover---follow power cord just inside and you will find the fuse in a snap in holder--check to see if bad.............if good let me know and I will try to assist you.

Where is a the fuse in a rca model r52wh74
On the main power supply board. To get to it you will need to remove the back of the case and locate the power supply board ( follow the power cord to the board ) and it is next to the connector.
BUT, I doubt that is your problem because if the fuse is blown then there would be no lights.

Tv's green light comes on then off three times
On same Board that you replaced fuse Look at cp 150 if it is puffed up on top it is bad so replace cp150,114,120 one will be 2200u 16v
other 2 caps will be 220uf 35v With tv turned OFF Press and Hold Vol- and CH - at same Time on Front Panel board wait untill set comes on you should now be in Service mode Go to Convergence Try to aline convergence Do Auto converge

Yes i replace that fluse fl231 all the time at the shop. at least two aweek. and the first few i replaced did the same thing. I would send it back to customer and i would get a call that the set had malfuctioned again and convergence gone. It was determined the reason this fuse blows is bad conections on the flyback transformer. The flyback is the big black component with the red wire coming out of the top. if you examine the connections on this component there will more than likely be a ring in the solder. this is caused by the manufacturing process known as LEAD-free solder. THis cause oscillations in that cuicit. like turning it of and on really fast. this is a very small fuse and cant stand up to this. so when you replace this fuse just simply RESolder these connections apply a little amount of solder to these connection. i am confident this will fix your problem.

Rca r52wh74 - no auto convergance
you need to replace chemical type fuse marked FL231 part number 259213, it`s located next to the flyback transformer, theres 3 of them there but 231 is the only one I`ve seen cause your problem, replace it and you`ll be all set.Happy Holidays !

Water damaged TV
If the set was on most likely severe damage by the cold drink and are not that easy to remove. It won;t just dry up like water would but, will leave behind a sticky conductive substance on the board basically shorting it out. Count your losses and purchase another television.
