Printer not booting up after power lose.

Power was lost during a storm a few days ago and ever since, the printer has not finished booting up (powering up) Well, I call it booting because on the screen is the hour glass which in times past has gone away and then finish powering up. right now, the power light is flashing and the hour glass is still there on the screen that has the HP logo. What can I do if anything?

I have the same problem, power outage (not due to a storm) and at first it just kept making the noise like when the printer is printing, but the print head never moved. The hourglass stays on the screen the on button is flashing and nothing works. I have unplugged, rebooted, and it won't work

I, too, had power outages today. Ever since all I get the hour glass on the screen with the HP logo for about ten seconds, then black for five, then back to the hour glass. A very small, dull click is also going on. The printer cartriges do not slide to center when I open the front. I have rebooted several times, as well as reinstalled software and hooked it up to another computer. Nothing works. I hope someone can offer a suggestion.

I have the same problem. I've unplugged the printer and disconnected it from the computer and left it overnight. When I plug it back in, I get the hour-glass and the clicking noise.

After every storm that we loose power, my printer buggers up, too. I get the screen with the HP logo and the hourglass when power comes back. I unplug the printer from the back, wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in. It sounds like it's going through the restart stuff. The ink cartridges do their thing fine. It's the light/lens bar under the glass that messes up. It comes out from the right a couple of inches then moves back to the right and gets stuck making a "bump-bump" noise. I tried chatting with HP. They said it was a hardware malfunction and I could trade it in towards a newer machine at a discounted price. I know I've pressed something in the past that helped it reset but don't remember what. What you guys think?

    Thanks! :o)

Hi guys. I had the same problem, but looked at this thread. I guess mine was related to the power, because when I moved my plug from a power strip to a wall outlet, it worked fine.

No power to the microwave, after storm.

The low voltage brownout let the oven draw too much current, and likely an internal fuse failed. Typically after removing a dozen Philips screws you can take off the cover and locate the fuse, which you can match and replace. [If it still has "power" (like the lights come on) but has stopped heating, then it could be any number of other issues (main capacitor fail, etc)] I've changed a fuse or two in my day, and years ago a failed capacitor, with success.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no reset on the phone system, and it's a near certainty that a power surge during the storm "fried" the sensitive circuitry in your phone. The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago and I ended up replacing my phone system. A corded phone in the house at the same time lost its ringer during our storm. To this day it still works fine, but will not ring. While you cannot save your present equipment, it's possible to protect your replacement by installing a phone line surge protector (available at just about any store that sells phones or computers) and a whole house surge protector that you install at the main outside breaker box (you'll need to search the web for that one. Look for a SYCOM surge protector).

R1800 Won't Power Up

Just check the power cord of your printer it maybe don't have any lost connection or change the power cord. If did not work also their was a problem of your powersupply. You need to bring it to the electronic center technician for the proper repair of the power supply.

After power outage the printer won't power up.

The printer is dead, the surge got thru and fried it. Replace it and the surge-protector.
