You have a dirty glass. Take a lint free cloth and water and wipe the glass making sure you leave no streaks behind. Sometimes you have to take a flashlight and examine the glass. Just a little spec, the laser will drag all the way down.
I suggest that you try a new power adapter. this may be the issue. It is not charging the battery. this is the why the abrupt turn off. the battery is not getting the proper charge.
