DVD door will not open and eject DVD. It says it's opening on the screen but it does not open. DVD is stuck in there

Hello
Either its loading belt in the DVD mechanism, or its loading motor has damaged. It is common that the loading belt will get loos of break. Loading belt is a small belt fasted between loadin motor to loading gear mechanism. Replace the same first. You have to open your TV and pull out the DVD mechanism outside for repair. If replacement of loading belt doesn't help, loading motror is faulty, and should be replaced. OK.

Problem ejecting dvd from side panel 32" dvd/tv conbo

Either the drive belt for the drawer transport is worn out or the drive pulley has a crack in it and cant drive the belt. Sounds like a trip to the service shop is in order unless you are into taking it apart and investigating yourself. Belt will cost about $3.00.The drive pulley can usually be carfully glued.Making sure not to get any glue into the motor.Hope this helps.

I hAVE 24 in DVD triple combo ^&@$DG TV. I put

You're describing what could be a loose or worn loading belt problem, most of the vcr mechanisms used in these combos use one to load the tape and thread it for it to play or record, that is why you have to keep puhing the tape untill the machine accepts the tape and you have to keep pressing play untill it starts the play function.

My poloroid tv with dvd player dvd player put dvd in makes noise

This is a very common problem with the 32" TDA-03211C TV/DVD combo unit. Poloroid sent me three replacement DVD units in the first year and each began doing this same thing after a few months (chunking noise and could not load disks). Finally my warranty expired and it failed again. I ended up with two units left after all those exchanges, so I took one apart to see if I could figure out what was going wrong.
In switching the units out one day, I noticed that the forward facing side of the DVD box was getting very warm even when it is not being used. Also, the dvd's felt very warm when ejected from the unit. I also noticed that the metal plate which is behind the picture screen and only about 1/4" from the forward facing side of the DVD box was even warmer (about 110 to 120 degrees F). This heat is distorting the thin metal and plastic parts in the DVD unit, causing the parts not to be in correct contact and alignment (disk won't play and sometimes won't eject).
With the front and top covers removed from the DVD box and the box laying flat on a table (and no dvd in unit of coarse), I pushed downward firmly on the black plastic disk at the top of the drive, and also on the lever arm that is accessible through a hole near the left front of the unit until they bottomed out to bend them down some (the lever arm was warped upwards where it was actually rubbing the top of the case - that was the chunking sound I heard).
I then went to O'Rielly auto parts and bought a 1'x2' sheet of exhaust manifold gasket material for $8. This material is not flamable and will withstand temperatures that would melt this TV into a puddle. I cut the gasket material so that it would fit neatly inside the top cover of the DVD box (metalic side up), then put the top cover and front cover back on the unit. I cut another piece of the gasket material to fit snugly in the space between the forward facing side of the DVD box and the metal plate that is behind the picture screen (metalic side facing picture screen). I then reinstalled the DVD box into the TV. It was a little tighter fit than before, but went in OK and is still removable with some effort.
Both of the previously non-functioning DVD units I have play fine now in the TV. The disks eject perfectly every time now and I notice a significant difference in the temperature of the disks when I eject them. No more strange noises either.
These DVD units are fine and are actually quite well built, but they are just mounted too close to a heat source. A little insulation is all it needs. I cant believe Poloroid's design people can't figure this out.

DVD is stuck

When a DVD won't eject, the most common problem is that the belt that operates the eject mechanism is slipping and not allowing it to eject the DVD. This can be fixed by either using a re-grip solution1.gif on the belt or having the belt replaced. With the cover off (be careful not to touch anything live with power) try to find the motor and belt which operates the DVD loading & eject mechanism. Try moving the belt pulley with your finger to give it a little help and see if it continues on with the operation. If it does, the belt is probably slipping. It takes more effort on the belt & pulley during an eject sequence rather than the a load sequence, so it may load fine but have trouble ejecting. Gravity and the weight of the DVD is why you may not have this problem during a load sequence.
Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

Good luck,
- Jim

Help

Ok this is a sure fire way of getting that DVD out. Open up the unit, find the load and unload gear, rotate the gear and that should eject the carriage slide. That's it.

What you can do with the set turned off is to open the back of the set and find the DVD load and unload motor, manually turn the load and unload gear on the motor and this should eject the DVD.

DVD will not eject the tray

Open up the unit find the load and unload motor on the DVD carriage and turn it manually and this should eject the tray. You may even have to unscrew the carriage to get to the bottom of it to access the load and unload motor.

Dvd won,t eject

This is going to require opening the unit and taking the DVD unit covers off. If you feel confident and are good with tools and have a good memory (to remember how it all goes back together), you should be able to get the DVDs out. Just remember to be careful inside the unit, go slow and don't force anything. After the DVDs are out and you have the unit back together properly it should be OK if no damage was done to the laser assembly. Good luck.
