HP Pavilion dv7 notebook-Purchased 2009- Power light illuminates.Keyboard lights up and remains lit (steady-not flashing) fan starts up and then stops after a few seconds. No picture or light on screen-no sound or beeps. Possibly causes/solutions/test. Is the harddrive interchangeable with other laptops? or how to recover data if PC is not feasable to repair? Thanks

I have an HP Pavilion dv7-1130 Entertainment Laptop, and as of recently, when I try to turn it on, the lights around the keyboard power on and the fan runs, then the fan stops and the lights stay on. No...

With an extensive use of the notebook,
some times notebook would store some static charges which
indeed will stop the notebook from powering up or charging
the battery. The procedure to remove this static charges from
the notebook is known as power drain. Performing a power
drain procedure will not effect any personal data or delete
any pictures from the hard drive on your notebook.
I recommend you use Power Drain procedure by following these
steps:

1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter.
5. Turn on the Notebook power.

Double check to see if you've left a floppy disk, flash drive or mp3 player in any drive by accident.
