I didn't see your original post but if you reply to this one, I'll take a look at it.
Many of those who provide free assistance here are still gainfully employed so the reply time may seem sometimes long when you are without your set.

In the meantime, take a look at this link to see if others are having your problems; it could be that someone has responded previously:

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I posted a question yestarday left email and you guy's say a response in minutes nothing yet the next day

If nobody knows the answer or you do not give us enough information, the question never gets answered. We are unpaid volunteers that do this in our spare time. Your question gets answered when one of us logs in and knows the answer to your question. We do not work 8 hour shifts. We can work as little as a few minutes before I go to my regular job or work as long as we want on the Fixya site.

Tip

Critical Information Needed

For anyone and everyone that is about to, or has posted a repair question, here's my tip.

Include AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE.
Vehicle make
Vehicle year
Vehicle model
If engine related question then include the engine size, or at the very least, how many cylinders
If a transmission related question, then manual or automatic

The whole "my car don't start" or possibly "heater don't work" or transmission don't shift" WITHOUT THE PERTINENT INFORMATION WILL GET YOU NO, OR WRONG INFORMATION.

Every time I see a vague question asked it reminds me of one of the auto parts store I worked at.

It was a simple "Ma and Pa" operation and i was the only employee.

One day a guy walked in and said to the owner, "I need some spark plugs". The owner stood there for a few seconds, turned around and walked back to the shelf, grabbed a box of spark plugs and then he returned to the counter, sitting the box of spark plugs in front of the customer.

The guy asked "Are those the spark plugs I need?" The owner answered, "I don't know if you don't tell me what vehicle you need them for."

FINALLY the guy understood what the problem was. LACK OF INFORMATION.
He then told what he needed the plugs for and got the correct ones. Along with the proper recommended electrode gap.

Sure you can post a vague question, but you may not get a response. If you do, then don't be surprised if it's requesting more information. THEN you get to respond back with the needed info. THEN you MAY get an answer for the question.

When all along, with the proper information to begin with, the question could have been answered WITHOUT the back and forth exchange.

End of Tip (rant)

How to post a good question here to get a good answer to your problem!

a521ea0.jpgWhen you post a question you want an answer that helps you solve your problem.

Aside from the title etc here are some important things to include in the text part of your question:

1. Type of equipment---For example----Plasma TV, or Projection TV.

2.) Brand and model number of equipment (put it in the part where you describe your problem).

3.) A description of what the equipment IS and IS NOT doing. The better you describe it the more likely you will get good advice.

4.) Any steps you have taken to resolve the problem.

The more the person who reads your question sees the better the chance he or she can help you.

5.) Once someone answers your question here is what to ask:

a.) Can you provide me with Step by Step instructions for this repair?
b.) Can you provide me with any photos that might aid me to resolve my problem?
c.) Can you provide me with a source for parts I might need to get it fixed?

A good description of your set and problem will greatly increase the chances of you getting the help you came here for.

Things to avoid:

Someone who replies with a link---go here and buy this, with no instructions on how to know WHAT to do to be sure it will help should be taken with a grain of salt---IF you post a well written Question you deserve a well written answer and also someone who will follow up if you have more questions.

One line answers rarely solve problems.

If you have posted here you know you can post in the Free, Premium, or Chat areas---the first is free but the second two cost something.

My experience here has found that Premium questions that are well written (both the title and description) get the best results.

If you have researched experts here--you can do that--and see one whose answers you like--you can when you post a question in any of the three main areas--type in the title "Attention and the experts handle"

Mine for example is SD TECH---you can before you post a question look at any experts history of questions, answers, % of approved answers etc.

Like checking a company before you decide to use them for fixing your car or TV or whatever.

I have posted this because many people post questions that while not impossible to answer--would get faster and BETTER answers if worded differently.

Why, when i ask my question (twice now), does a message come up saying that an answer awaits me and to click on a certain place to get my answer, but when i do, there is NO answer. Just a bunch of oth

Janine, you have two choices: Be patient or go elsewhere. The people who answer your questions on FixYa aren't paid staff, we're just people LIKE YOU who answer questions because that's what we like to do. Some times of the day, totally at random, none of us are even HERE to see your questions. It does NOT help for you to post the same question three times, and it does NOT help for you to get petulant - if you're nasty and impatient, we're less likely to WANT to answer your questions.

Now... what are you talking about? Are you talking about notifications from FixYa (which is THIS website), or from FaceBook (FixYa has no connection to FaceBook), or from somewhere else?

I have posted three times, and the post has never been posted.

A lot of questions are posted--if someone replies with a solution or a clarification request the site will email you instantly.

Be sure you posted brand, model number and a description and posted it in the correct area.

Experts here can choose to answer or not answer a question based on information provided or not knowing the answer.

This question posted here is in the Projection TV questions.

Why is FixYa such a worthless website for getting solutions?

Fixya is a site based on helping others. You post a question, and if somebody knows the answer, they can help you out. Just because you ask, doesn't mean that somebody will always know the answer. Try posting at different times of the day when different people are active. Be descriptive in your question. "my car doesn't start" is not a descriptive question and the answer is hard to pinpoint. Most experts will avoid answering. Everybody is good at something and is considered an "expert" on here at that specific thing. I tend to answer car stereo questions or some GM car problems. Others might know alot about refrigerators or blenders. Be patient and descriptive. Post your question in the correct format a few times a day, and if somebody can help, I'm sure they will.

I have sent my problem three times, what else must I do

Hi AmSenvol, this is what is going on. Yes you have asked a question three times. This is why you think you have not received an answer.

Enter FixYa.com site.
Sign in to your FixYa account.
Locate My Profile on our FixYa's homepage.
Under My Problem locate your problem and click on it.
(In you're case you have three problems posted).
In you're first post there was a answer to you're question you did not click on that post. Hence you did not see the answer given by oldnovii. Though in you're second post oldnovii did ask for you to vote fix for a second time. (Not very nobel but some do ask for more). oldnovii should have explained to you why you are not seeing the answer to you're question.
So, right click on you're own name & choose (open in a new window). You will see all you're posted questions. Click on each to see if it was answered.

Have a good day!
Mike
