Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Hewlett Packard laptop from the UK. I now live in the US and it broke down and no longer works. I'd like to get the data off the hard drive to move to a new machine but was told by a repair person that they didn't have the correct wires to do it. Where can I bring the computer to get the data removed from the hard disk?

How do you use a BlacX docking station to transfer information/data from the bad hard drive on a Hewlett Packard Pavilion desktop computer to a new Seagate hard drive?

as long as the drive is working..not clicking or non responding.just pop in the hard drive and it will auto open in windows.or other os then drag and drop as needed. you can open "my computer" to see the new drive and letter. open both drives in two separate windows and move as needed.

Depending on the error on the hard drive such as one or more bad sectors, and if your hardware is functional, you can try a repair using windows, backup all data on a flash drive first, next go into my computer and right click on c drive, click on properties down on the bottom, select tools and click check now, check off both boxes, close all windows and shutdown computer, now restart it and let it go through the process without interuption, hopefully it will repair all files and bad sectors.

1720-smart hard drive detects imminent failure (failing attribute : 1)

This is a warning that your hard drive will fail in the near future. It is wise to backup your data frequiently so you won't lose your data when the hard drive fails.
The faults your hard drive is experiencing will cause the computer to slow down as it tries to read and write data to your hard drive.
There is nothing you can do to fix the hard drive except to replace it when it fails.

Hp g62 wont play or eject

The first thing you can try is to put a paperclip into the small hole in the front face of the dvd drive to pop open the tray (if you can't get it open). If you put in a CD, and it won't read it, and put in a DVD and it won't read it, then chances are your DVD drive is no longer working, and needs to be replaced.

HDD is failing backup all important data and replace drive, could also try determining the drive manufacturer whether its seagate, western digital etc. and download drive utilities from the manufacturer in an attempt to repair the drive.

Portable hard drive not displaying hd super save just ordinary data. and it was dropped.

portable hard drives are very VERY sensitive. because of its structure & its a compact design. the cause of the issue might be because you dropped it. try to format it if the problem will go away.
