How to Install Scanner ColorPage HR8 Geniuns 64-bit Windows 8.1
First:
Getting Driver Genius for Windows Vista

Microsoft reports no drivers from the manufacturer, to try luck with the driver of windows Vista, but does not explain how to make it work.

After you download the driver, you have to run the "setup.exe" in support "Windows Vista" mode.

Install Win7 driver in compatibility mode

try downloading a vista compatible driver from the internet

vista safety scanner is compatible with all version of vista OS. there are no issues about it.

Go to control panel.
Open up device manager.
Find the benQ drivers that exist. If there is a yellow triangle by them with an exclamation point, it means that the software is not working.
Uninstall the drivers, regardless of whether they are damaged or not.

Go to the action menu, and click on "scan for hardware changes"
If driver software exists, vista should be able to find it and install automatically.

If the benQ 4300 scanner is a really old model, it may not work.

HP doesn't have a Vista driver for Scanjet 3400c. I'm afraid your scanjet isn't compatible with Vista.

Not sure what model of scanner you are using, however, this driver covers Vista 64 bits
