If you hear noise coming for hard drive that sounds like it is trying to eject the disc but cannot, try facing the console down (with power on) with the disc slot towards the floor and press eject. It may take a few times before the disc catches.
have you tried to tell it to eject from the game disc options using triangle button ? just a thought but it sounds quite critical if its clicking like your ejection drive is having issues hope this helps
This is a
problem occurring in all the play station 3 consoles....... this is mainly
because of the poor design of ejection system.....as a result it leads to the damage
of ur PS3 lens..............use good original discs........the heating effect will arise is due to the long usage of discs ... use pins to eject if its working good then ok no problem ..................if not download this Repair Guide for further information ......... CLICK HEREto download
The only way to fix it is to open up the disc drive and reset the the mechanism that sets the disc with the laser. As the system draws the disc in, it also raises the laser unit that is hooked to a gear driven mechinism. Sometimes when dropped, kicked, smacked...etc, the gears can come off of alignment. It's a pain to repair but really not that hard. You really need some patience and a to be carefull not to damage anything. Hope this helps.
As for the disc, you have a slipped gear in the BR drive. It sees the disc is there and it's trying to eject it, but one of the side arms inside isn't aligned with the gears. I suggest calling Sony first, if they will not fix it then find and contact a pro. I hope this helps. Good luck.
