How do I fix my JVC rc-x720? When I put a CD into my JVC rc x720 it comes up on the display as 000000, instead of showing the total time and track numbers

mY CD player has for a long time not been able to read the discs, the display showing 000000, and the sound of the lens continually scanning.

I have exactly the same experience, though it is intermittent.

Hi! Easy! For this you either clean the lazer with a cotton bud and maybs add a slight bit of water. If this does not work, buy one of those cleaning cd`s with a brush and cleaner - usually does the trix

JVC XL-R2010 CD Recorder - recording dao problem

Reading the manual over and over, it looks like there is a function called Autotrack and by default is ON.
In the manual, page 22, shows you how to put the Autrack OFF.
Be careful that if you use the synchronize one-button recording you will have again the Autrack automatically ON again and that means a pause or bump between tracks.
For your reference I used the manual at this location http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/98/A0013ien.pdf

Please let me know if you need further help.

Denon CD deck

This unit needs a service visit. It may be a common problem with that model but to me it sound like a power supply issue as when you play a disc more power is used to rotate motors and move the sled. This is indicating to you that it is in a weakened condition and will soon fail more significantly. The problem may be as little as a solder joint or a defective Filter capacitor which is common in some models of equipment.

Phillips cdr775/00 how do i record from laptop headphone socket into recorder i n=have tried my usual lead jack to two phonos it says start source when i do no signal comes into recorder analogue in

MANUAL RECORDING FROM COMPUTER HEADPHONE SOCKET.. FIRST RIGHT LEAD REQUIRED YOU NEED STEREO 3.5mm stero jack plug to lef right phono male leads... prepare for manual record place jack in computer headphone socket. check correct socket play track on computer their should be no sound. if sound present in wrong socket... if ok place phono left right into analogue aux inputs on cdr recorder.next make shure you have blank scratch free cd .next press ext(ernal) source repeatedly until the required input is selected i.e digital analogue optical etc..when auto track is on the disk will number automatically.with auto track on it their needs to be 2.7 second gap to rec number change. with the recorder stopped press rec type five times to enter in the manual record standby mode. manual start s to flash and the display shows REC EXT MAN followed by WAIT.after a few seconds press record . play the source track ie on your computer to set record level on cd recorder.. adjust audio card settings or volume control on pc etc .rotate easy jog/enter key until on the record /play level bar all the blue led are alight but not the red( clipping) display shows xx decibel eg 3bd. stop the source material (track on computer get ready to record ii.e to start track again..to start recording set you track going wilst pressing RECORD on the cd recorder, and immediatley the source material playing. the track number and recording time left appear in display . if check input message is displayed check the connections are correct etc .to stop recording press stop on cd recorder . update lights up and arrow goes out. after recording display will show UPDATE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WRITTING TOC.. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THIS DISC ON NORMAL CD PLAYERS YOU NEED TO FINALIZE THE TRACK . HOPE THIS HELPS..yammandan.

JVC CA-S200. Cd loads but will not play.Display shows track + duration but fails to start.Have powered off+on,no joy.Regards Tim

laser will be dusty. clean it first.

if no joy then CAREFULLY and remembering where they were... turn up the small orange power control on the back of the laser a bit (1/12th clockwise- NO FURTHER)

and if still no joy then maybe the orange focus offset control on the pcb to the right take it to one end.

If still no joy then the laser is duff

Nad 502 CD will not recognise and play CD every time

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens, or misaligned loading mechanism. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more
