Your dsl should have come with some line filters to put on your regular phones as well as fax machines. Split your incoming phone line with a phone splitter from radio shack plug the dsl into one of the two ports and the filter into the other. On the output of the filter you are allowed to split again to as many devices as you need phones and fax machines alike.

Can canon mf4370 fax on dsl line

Fax machine operation can be interrupted by DSL lines, however, because the DSL signal is also transmitted through phone wiring. This can result in a loss of data in the fax if steps are not taken to prevent it. Fortunately, this is not a difficult thing to fix.

Items you will need

  • DSL filter
Step 1

Unplug the fax machine from the phone jack.
Step 2

Plug your DSL filter into the phone jack. DSL filters are specifically designed to eliminate interference from the DSL line on your phone line.
Step 3

Plug the fax machine into the phone line jack on the DSL filter. You can now use your fax machine and DSL line at the same time without risk of data loss or interference.

HI, I CAN SEND MY FAX TO THE OPPSIT PARTY BUT I DONT RECEIVE ANY FAX, WHEN THE PARTY SEND ME, AS THE PARTY GET THE REPORT AS WE HAVE RECEIVED THE FAX,,,,,,

Please be sure that you have the fax line in the correct jack on the back. Some of the HP modems will actually send a fax if you plug the telephone cord from the wall into jack that is supposed to have a telephonep plugged into it. On the back of the 1522 there are two phone jacks, the upper one is where the cord from the wall plugs in. Also ensure that if you have DSL service that you have a filter in the line for the modem.

I have a Canon Pixma MX870. I have a DSL to which I have a phone line and also a phone line to my phone. If I want to set up for receiving faxes, where do I put its phone line. My surge protector only...

You should be able to run a line from the phone line jack to the IN jack of the fax machine / printer and then run the phone line to the phone from the OUT jack on the printer/fax. You can get a short phone patch line from Radio Shack or even Target or Walmart. It will have a plug for the phone jack at both ends.

I lost my manual and would like help in connecting to phone jack

Each phone or dial-up modem or fax machine needs a DSL filter attached to the phone line/socket then each phone or dial-up or fax machine is then plugged into this filter.
The DSL modem does not require a filter.
If your fax is part of the computer's modem then a filter is also required on the line-in on the modem.
The instructions for sending & receiving depends upon your system/dial-up modem (the make & model, is it stand alone or a modem adapter on the expansion slot or built-in on the motherboard) and the software you are using. Cannot help you without these details.

Having trouble connecting samsung clx-3175fn multi function printer to home phone and dsl to enable me to send and receive faxes

Make sure you attach a dsl filter to the Samsung. Should look like this: Samsung/filter/phone line. Should be installed like this: filter to Samsung bottom phone jack, phone line to filter. Attach the home phone to the upper extension jack from the Samsung.

Faxing

The phone wire from your wall jack gets connected to the jack marked "line" on your printer. If you are also are connecting a separate phone to the printer connect a phone wire from the jack marked "ext" to your phone. Just in case you need a manual here is where you can download one. Please rate if this helped. Thanks. Have a nice day. http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/files/dlf/doc000222/MFC-210C_UsaEngUsr_B.pdf

When i try to fax it says no phone tone someone is on the phone

Hi,

Well as you have spent two hours with dell, i am sure everything would have been checked, However lets make sure that we have the connections right.

Your DSL must have 2 outlets, 1 which will be connected to the Phone and the other one which should be connected to the DSL Modem. 1 is voice and other one is Internet.

So make sure that you have plugged in the cables correctly. You may try changing the cable and the ends to check that.

Another point is that at the back of the tower you would have two ports for tel line "Line and Phone", so make sure that you have connected the phoneline to the jack which says "Line" NOT THE ONE WHICH SAYS "PHONE"
Pull out the cord from the Tower and plug it in a phone and check that you are getting a dial tone.

I hope that this should resolve the issue you are facing.
Thanks
Sammy

Can't receive incoming faxes!

It sounds like maybe the printer is not picking up the incoming call. Check to see that the printer is the first thing connected to the phone jack. If you have DSL you will need to plug the printer into the "phone" side of the DSL filters that you have on all your phone jacks.
If you have an answering machine it should be plugged into the printer's phone jack - not the other way around. The printer is smart enough to pick up fax calls and pass voice calls on to the answering machine if you get it hooked up right. Check the user's guide for more specifics.
