Question about HTC Touch P3450 Smartphone
I have just got this phone, did some reading and read that Alltel enabled MMS, SSM messaging for the Touch.
I received the phone and have not been able to send a picture by SSM/MMS as of yet. I called Alltel and they said it couldn't be done, while I've checked on forums and people are saying it can. It also has a huge picture on the back of the box which says you can send video and picture messaging (It's an Alltel HTC box)
I've checked my SMS/MMS Pics/Video settings and photo resolution is set at QQVGA 160 x 120 (Have switched it around a little, with no effect)
Name: Altel MMSC
Port Number: 8080
Server Address: http://mms.alltel.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via: Alltel Wireless
Sending size limitation: 300k
I would be EXTREMELY grateful to anyone who can help me here. I have unlimited internet/e-mail as well as unlimited messaging, so I'm wondering what could be wrong?
Thanks so much!
Here is how to Send apicture mail... when you click on a picture to send choose an emailaccount and in the "To:" box type the following with the recipientsnumber in place of the MDN (depending on the recipients serviceprovider) :
Sprint : MDN@pm.sprint.com
Verizon : MDN@vzwpix.com
Cingular : MDN@mms.mycingular.com
US Cellular : MDN@mms.uscc.net
T-Mobile : MDN@tmomail.net
Nextel : MDN@messaging.nextel.com
Alltel : MDN@message.alltel.com
AT&T : MDN@mms.att.net
Boost Mobile : MDN@myboostmobile.com
Virgin Mobile : MDN@vmobl.com
Then just click send.

I know this response is a little bit late but...
I am not sure why Alltel customer service has told you that the HTC touch is not MMS compatible... I personally have had the phone since it came out (and I am an Alltel Employee) and I have never had any issues with picture messages. You need to call customer service and speak to someone in tech support or advanced tech support (ATS) and find out if there is something going on either with the codes on your account or with the switch itself...
Now I DO know that there was a software update that came out for that phone that you would need to go to http://software.alltel.com/ to download... I HIGHLY recommend that if you still have this phone and still have these issues that you do the software update ASAP...

The Motorola Q from Alltel is NOT capable of sending or receiving pciture messages! But the HTC Touch IS capable of sending and receiving pciture messges. I have an HTC Touch from Alltel and I have been sending and receiving pictures A LOT lately because I will be getting married in a few eeks and this was the best way that I could contact all of my bridesmaids at one time. I too had the Q and learned the hard way that it did not have picture messaging when I got engaged and people told me to send pics of my ring....The Blackberry Pearl from Alltel does not have it either...... My advise is when you go into the Alltel store and ASK does it receive and send pictures....
For the person who has the Touch..... Take the picture or select the pciture and at the top there should be an area where you can select a person to send it to... Put in the person's phone number and send it. I hope that helps.... Hopefully you won't have the problems that I have been having.... I am getting ready to be on my 3rd HTC Touch phone! (grumble!!!!)

Its not possible for any smartphone, that is set up thru alltel!! I have a Moto Q and have the same problem as well before with my Palm Treo 650. One of my friends who has a Q with Sprint told me that she can send pics or video messages but she used to have alltel and could not. The only way u can send pic/video messages MMS other then text messages SMS is thru bluetooth or email which is retarted why not just use a computer...I hate that fact but its a part of life u have to deal with. So.... if u want to send and recieve pics back and forth with friends u better not get ANY smart phone with alltel.

For anyone here who believes it is not possible for an ALLTEL smart phone, just go to your ALLTEL store. It is possible, it is easy, and it is OK if you cannot figure it out. Everybody is good at something different, right?
I have had four models of smart phones with ALLTEL, and had no confusion on the pic issue with any of them. Send fine/receive fine---every single one. It may be easy for me because I am an engineer, so don't waste your time 'figuring it out', just go to the store, and let THEM do their job!
Don't let technology kick your ***---let someone help you.

My HTC touch did not let me send pics or video messages. I called alltel tech support an very luckily the person who helped me owned an HTC touch. She told me to go to the official HTC website an download an update. The website gives you step by step instructions. There is also a troubleshooting section where alot of other problems are addressed. Hope this helps it helped me.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
