My problem is a little different. I just set up a new Majicjack and it works great for sending faxes. It also works great for receiving faxes if I lift up the receiver upon receiving a fax and I press the fax receipt button. The problem is when a fax is sent, and I want the machine to receive the fax automatically. When testing the automatic mode, I received 1 fax out of 5 tries. The other four tries acted like the fax was about to receive, and then it disconnected.

I have a Panasonic KX-FP145 fax machine. Majicjack tells me to slow down the fax machine and turn off error correction. The specs on the fax machine shows that the machine can run and various modem speeds, but provides absolutely no information on how to adjust to these speeds. There is no information whatsoever concerning error correction.

If I use my normal home phone system with this fax machine, it never fails. Please help. Thanks.

1) I suspect a bad telephone connection, or connections are
being dropped.

2) Check the phone line wire. Unplug the phone line from the
fax machine, and plug it into an ordinary phone. Call a few
friends and check that the phone-line and the cable is
working. Make sure the line does not sound noisy, crackly
or drop out entirely. Jiggle the cable connectors as you do
this.

3) If the phone line is OK, then try faxing several different
numbers with a test message, to make sure that the problem
is not unique to a single destination, which would be a fault
at the receiving end.

4) If the phone line is good, and the all destinations are bad,
then the fax unit is defective.

5) If the problem happens during receiving only, make sure
you are not out of ink or toner, and that the paper is not
getting jammed.

Good luck, please rate my answers

How to clear Memory?

If the memory is filled up when a fax is received ... when there's no paper, or it is jammed (so that it can't print) ... you can print the fax (in Memory, after putting in new paper, or fixing the jam) by pressing the START/MEMORY button. After it prints, the memory is cleared.

If the memory is filled up when you're scanning and storing a document into memory (to be fax out), press the START/MEMORY key to transmit the pages that's already in memory. After transmitting the content in memory, the memory will be cleared/emptied. You'll need to scan the remaining pages to transmit (as a separate fax)

Get communication problems when sending some faxes - when sending faxes to some places it won't transmit but will transmit to other places

The problem can be either a error with your phone service or an incompatablity with your machine and the receivers.

Sometimes the problem is as simple as the receiver's machine being set to receive on more rings than your's before it goes into redial.
