The screen stays black? It does the same when attched to another PC?
Most common problem inthis model is due to bad caps with domed tops.
See pictures here:
http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Repair-Kit-Viewsonic-VA1912wb-LCD-Monitor-Capacitors-P1660488.aspx

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Black screen on acer aspire 9300

Hello, have you tried reseating the memory, taking out memory and installing another? It could be a faulty memory module and if it isnt that sounds like the graphics processor on the motherboard is faulty. That requires advanced soldering skills. Hope this helps.

I have a dell vostro 1000 laptop when i turn on the computer the screen just stay black no light on the screen it just stay black but i can hear the sound that it was on i just could not seen any thing.

Have you accidentally turned off your lcd? Some laptops have a shortcut key for turning off the lcd, usually the FN key combined with the function keys (F1 to F12). If you have a spare monitor and your laptop has a VGA output, try connecting your laptop to another monitor. If it shows up, then you may have a faulty lcd.

Yea i have a gateway 450sx4 laptop and when i turn it on it stays black for a while and when the screen finally turns on it blurry and its different colors and it just shows lines how can i fix this?

It's likely that your screen is "fried" (faulty) ... try to connect your laptop to an external VGA monitor, and see if the screen shows up (on the external monitor) properly. You may have to toggle the output display (device) from computer screen to external monitor ..using Fn+F3.
If it displays on your external monitor properly, it means your laptop screen is no good. You can replace the laptop screen, or just continue to use the external monitor.
If it does the same (blurry & different color, etc.) on your external monitor, then, your video card/module on your laptop is bad. This usually happens less often.

Mine similar except the blue light stays on ,monitor goes black

Have you tested the monitor? The monitor could be faulty. Try hooking up the computer to another monitor or another computer up to that monitor if possible. If the monitor is testing good then make sure all USB devices are disconnected and try to boot again. Then open the case and blow out any dust. Check the motherboard screws are tight. If the screws holding the motherboard to the case are loose it can cause a grounding issue. Then swap out the power supply with a working one and see if that fixes it. Disconnect hardware one at a time and re-boot. One of the devices...cd-rom,harddrive,ect could be faulty. Make sure the video card is fully seated and test the card in another working computer or test a working card in that computer. If it has on-board video then install a video card if available and see if it works. If none of these things work then the board is bad and needs replacement.

Screen dont work

Try pointing a torchlight sticking to the screen and see if you see a dim picture, in that case you have a faulty inverter.

Otherwise can be the controller board or power supply.

Dell E172FPb screen blinking

Hello,

If you've tested turning the monitor on without the VGA cable and it's still blinking I'd say there's a problem with one of the capacitors on the power supply card on your screen, when you're able to check it would you mind telling me the brand / reference of it ?

LCD monitor problems.

Hi.

If the monitors use seperate plug in power supply EG 12 to 24volts it could be that at fault.
Or it could be the invertor at fault.
I have had some success repairing invertors if you can use A meter remove invertor Panels & check accross the coils with meter set to ohms all the coils should read identical chances are you will find one set of windings either dead short or open circuit. This will be the faulty coil hopefully as your monitors are all the same make the coils will be the same.
Carefully desolder faulty coil & fit one that reads good from a doner board.
Look for any SMD type fuses & check or replace them & thats it I have done quite a few now using this method.
Give it a go.
