Alpine ida-x001 volume is low even if stereo is turned all the way up only when ipod is plugged in on ipod setting.Radio (AM/FM) is normal volume (louder)..How can I fix this?

Most newer car receivers have a feature named something like "level balancing" in which you can adjust the relative loudness of each input (Tuner, CD, AUX, IPOD). Check you owner's manual for a similar function.

Also, are you or can you turn the level of the ipod itself up a bit?

Alpine sub pre outs

i know people dont like doing it this way but when in doubt, splice wires.

go to walmart and buy a crossover, splice your front or rear door speaker wire and wire in the crossover and also the door speaker. plug your RCA cables in and run them back to the amp.

most people with stock decks do this if they dont have sub out or amp out.

if u need more help let me know

As you can see on page 7 of the manual, your unit does not have a loudness function.

Alpine mrp-f300 cuts sound off when volume is turned up.

the problem when someone become a car audio fanatic is, we want to hear BOOMS but we are not sure how many watts the amplifier can handle, besides that theres one very important thing that most of the installers don't know. its called ohms law (not a joke) that law tells you everything about how to measure the ohms marked on the speaker labels and also the way that you connect the speakers (theres two models; serial circuit and parallel circuit)

every single movement that you make on the connections tells a different story, and if you over load the amp it will auto protect.

i suggest you to set the level at least at 60% so you don't make any damage to the internal components, and don't forget to study ohm's law because a really professional installer knows it and well, they do the matt to get the best performance.

I got an alpine apx 1300 300w and the protection light is turned on

Most likely there is a short in the output stage. This would mean changing the output IC's and most likely the damaged support compoenents and driver devices.

The Alpine service rep can fix this for you. Some serious troubleshooting will be required.

The cause of this type of faulure is usualy from the following:
  • Short on the speaker wires, either to ground or to each other.
  • Damaged voice coil or crossover causing too much loading.
  • Power surge due to poor voltage regulation.
  • Playing the unit too loud and having clipping (distortion) in the sound. This usually also damages the speakers.

Not enough bass

its prolly the deck, did you try turning the alpine's input gain controls up...

its not the wiring, if the wiring was insuficient, it would just melt...

you might also see if you could adjust the bass frequencies or crossover frequency, the crv might just have a different resonant frequency then the rav 4

Car audio

As long as the crossover keeps the frequency going to the tweeters within a safe range (I'd say about 500hz+, read the box or look it up by model number) they should be just fine. That is what the crossover is for.
