Copies super slow (as in best mode) even when i set it to "fast"
I set the copier to "fast" and attempt to copy some pages. The first one will come out super quick but the second or third will revert to the "best" mode and be sooooo slow and super detailed. This occurs all the time and drives me crazy on large print jobs. It slows us down and uses all our ink. We've had it for 2 1/2 years and this is the first year it acts this way.

Try looking here: open your printers fax folder. Your printer should be listed here, right click on it and select properties. Now click on the advance tab. There should be a printer defaults button, click on it. Make sure your copies number is set to 1. Then click ok on each window and close.
I tend to think that you are pressing wrongly. Place the document to be copied facing down on the fax document side and then press COPY/HELP key1 Load the document(s) face down. (Maximum of 10 pages.) The display will show: READY TO SEND • Set the resolution and/or contrast if RECEPTION MODE desired. (The default setting for copying is SUPER FINE.). 2 Press the COPY/HELP key. COPY/HELP The display will show:
COPY MODE START KEY: SINGLE COPY KEY: MULTI ? If you are only making one copy of the original (or of each original) and don't want to make a reduction or enlargement setting, press the START/MEMORY key twice. Copying will begin. ? If you are only making one copy of the original (or of each original) and want to make an enlargement or reduction setting, press the START/MEMORY key and go to Step 5.
3 Press the COPY key (MULTI ) if you want to make multiple copies of each COPY/HELP original. The display will show: ENTER # (01-99) 4 Enter the number of copies per original (if the number is less than 10, 0 3 enter a "0" before the number). Example: Three The display will show: copies per original COPY RATIO Originals BC A MULTI COPY AA BB CC A B C You can get its manual here.
use pcl 5c L1 (please note it's very fast driver but only for single set print because this driver have some fault if you select 2 copies for print it print 4 copies so for single set it is the best and for many set try pcl 6 driver)
On the MP830 locate the "settings" button (top right of the cursor circle and left of the 1 key).
Press "settings" This should give you the "Print Quality" settings page on the LED Locate the 3rd field down which probably says "Fast", change this to "Standard" Press the "settings" button again to register the change.
Also possible that your contrast is causing problems... Check to see where the red bar is in the gradient (white to black line) under the "Copies" field on the LED in copy mode. If it's way over to the left that would also explain some of the problem.
Pressing the right arrow key on the circle controller will increase contrast although I'm not sure if it will retain this setting.
its normal in hp printers.it is not a fault.still u can delete the old drivers and reload the printer drivers again.as it will delete all the old setting which is making it slow and will work properly.
