There are known issues with many of the HTC touch screens becoming unresponsive. You can try to clean the perimeter of the screen with a card, etc then wash any oil from the screen...just in case. But a huge number of these have been coming back to the vendors broken, if this is the case you can only contact your provider and hope you can get it replaced/repaired under the warrenty.

The iPod Touch's built-in wireless adapter lets you operate
the equipment for the Internet functions based on multiple, including the use
of instant messengers such as AOL Instant Messenger. As your computer, your AIM
buddy list is usually updated automatically to reflect their friends in
real-time signals. If not, manually update AIM to see who is online and
available to chat.

1. Connect your iPod Touch to the Internet. Touch the
"Settings", then "Wi-Fi and tap the name of a nearby network -.
Enter a password If you need one - and tap" Join ".

2. Touch the "App Store" application and click the
"Browse" button in the lower right corner of the screen. Tap your
finger on the type of the "Search" on "AIM" and tap
"Search". Tap the "Install" button next to the MSN
application to install it on your iPod Touch, if you have not done so.

3. Open the "target" application and enter your
username and password. Touch the round "Arrow" button in the upper
right corner of the screen to manually update your list of friends.

4. Press the iPod touch "Home" button to close the
AIM and then again on "AIM" icon to reopen if the refresh button does
not work. As is the case with AIM on your computer, the AIM application for the
iPod Touch periodically stop working, especially if it is open for a long time.
you can try to recalibrate the touch screen to see if that works,
Start> settings> display> calibrate
* since screen is not working you will have to go the long away and use buttons on phone and nav wheel to get to these options
A friend had a similar problem, with the touchscreen not responding at all. I read somewhere on the internet that if you press the four corners of the screen very hard with your thumbs it may come back. I tried it...and it worked!
