See

You have to change the default settings for the Scan button action through the MP Navigator Software.

Hi, Brice,

Do not change anything with resolution.

After selecting Scan to PDF, click on Advance Option. Here in the new window which opens at the top you can see PDF as selected. Beside this "Options" button will be there. Click on it and a slider will appear. It will be at maximum. so you need to move the slider to minimum or closer to that and click OK Try scanning.

This will reduce the file size. This should be helpful

Sean

How to make file size of photos small to send by email?

I'll give you a trick! it has a large file size because of pixels, so you need to minimize it.

Open the file with mspaint and crop"

1. right click the file that you want to minimize file size, then choose " open with " then there's a option of program, choose the mspaint .
2. then once the picture was already open with mspaint, goto toolbox and choose the Crop tool..
3. Crop the picture..then open a new mspaint, then paste the cropped picture into it, then save afterwards..
4. then its done.

Good luck & please rate..

URGENT!!! How do I send a photo to my computer that I scanned using my HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One printer. Here is the twist...I need to crop all of them first then have it sent to my computer...

You need to use the computer software to scan it, crop it and save it. This way you don't need to send it to the computer, as the computer does the thing through the software.

Uninstall the driver and ALSO the scanning software. Reinstall both after a computer restart. Check the prescan settings. May be it is selected for a smaller area. This will stay on even if the driver is reinstalled. Look for 'default' option in the scanning software, if available press 'default' and select your settings.
There is a general bug in most (not all) of the Scanning software, that mere changing of the settings don't work just by changing the settings. They work only after the 'default' is pressed.

Try lowering your scan resolution settings. Magazine quality is 300dpi. If you don't want to lose too much quality, open the file is a image editor and crop only the area you wish to send.

Automatic Cropping...

Before turning off the autocrop feature, reset the software to the default setting. Then turn off the autocrop feature. Some scanning software need to be reset to the original default condition and accept software switches only then!
