See

You have to change the default settings for the Scan button action through the MP Navigator Software.

Hi, Brice,

Do not change anything with resolution.

After selecting Scan to PDF, click on Advance Option. Here in the new window which opens at the top you can see PDF as selected. Beside this "Options" button will be there. Click on it and a slider will appear. It will be at maximum. so you need to move the slider to minimum or closer to that and click OK Try scanning.

This will reduce the file size. This should be helpful

Yes,you do have to buy the sent kit.But remember the sent kit Scan to e-mail and not directly to the computer.Your company have to have a mail server to be able to work properly.Adobe have software that you can buy that chance word document to PDF.

Cant scan 4cm x 4xm slides

The mounted slide scanning option is set for scanning 35mm mounted slides (24mm x 36mm). As far as I know there is no way to change this setting. You may want to try using the film scan option, do a preview scan, and then crop each individual slide for the final scan.

Incomplete Scanning

No, your paper hasn't slipped. This is an unresolved bug in the MP500 where it does not detect the size of what you are scanning. Luckily, this appears to only be a problem when attempting to scan from the machine itself. If you use the MPNavigator Software and MANUALLY choose the size of the document you are scanning, it should work. This caused me HOURS of frustration before I found the solution. Good luck to you!

Scanning with Canon Pixma MP450

I just did it then! With help from solution posted Feb 08 leave the acual scanner alone can be done from the computer. Steps:

1. Go to - start - control panel - printers & hardware - scanners.
2. Once inside the scanners folder just click once on the scanner icon (mine is called WIA Canon) so it is highlighted.
3. Then click on the toolbar 'File' > 'scan', then select the correct program from the list (mine was MP Navigator 2).
4. Use the MP Navigator program to select "scan photo/document", follow the instructions. At the bottom if the window that is open you can change the document type to PHOTO or DOCUMENT!

This is where the problem lies it is scanning the document as a photo which is why it is coming out as multiple documents.
