It sounds like you have been given a township grid.

It is almost certainly a TM (Trans-Mercurial) grid.

The Lat/Long of Origin are most likely those two X/Y coordinates you have (x 126.0806 y -33.5694).

The scale factor also needs to be specifically given to you. Is there a scale anywhere on the map?

See this page for instructions on inputing grid parameters for the Garmin GPS. The principles are exactly the same, no matter what GPS is used.

All you need is grid type (TM, if you are in North America), origin lat & long (which you have) and scale.

Northing, Westing and false origins are used to approximate a TM grid in GPS units that don't directly support TM grids (like the Garmin in the linked example above). Since your Magellan *does* support TM directly, you don't have to resort to "fooling" the GPS with this other stuff.

Magellan explorist XL won't power up past a blue screen

Sounds like you got a bad update, you might be able to download an update from magellan, and put it on your sd card then load it that way to finish the update.

How can I set up to user grid a Magellan eXplorist GC?

Hello
I've the user manual for Magellan eXplorist. But I can't send it to you by this window, as it does not allow me to upload PDF files by it. If you send your Email address to me by Fixya Comment box, I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail. OK.

You can try to assemble a new screen

or send you damaged one to magellan and purchase a new or refurbished one at a discounted price.

My recommendation would be simply to replace entire unit unless you have experience fixing electronics.

Magellan explorist 100 is 2 hours out on time and I don't know how to reset it.

Go to Preferences and select Restart GPS. Then select Enter Coordinates and set your local time (no need to change coordinates so just press enter till you get to the time field). Hit Escape and now the time should be correct.

Replacement keypad membrane

If you look on magellan website it states they no longer have or support replacement parts for older gps models.
You can find an explorist for parts on ebay.
I own a explorist 100, 400, 500. I believe the key pads are all the same. If you can not find one, I will sell you the pad from the explorist 100 for 30 dollars plus shipping.

Year old explorist 100 doesn't work anymore

Even though your sister has lost the receipt, many stores have the ability to look up purchases at the store provided she used a credit card. You can not do this over the phone. You will need to have your sister go to the store and ask them to look up her purchase with her credit card. If it is a recent purchase and still within the product warranty you may be able to get a replacement. Good luck.
