I added 256 ram and it only recognized 128. I then took out the existing 64 ram and left the 256 pc100 ram in. It still only recognized 128

Please Post clearly the No of RAM Cards you've got and the memory of each.

Also explain in Detail what was there in the Moboard , Your RAM Type(DDR or DDR2) and the no of RAM Slots in your Moboard.

Clarify for a solution.

Check the configuration of your system, it probably supports 128 MB of RAM at max.
