To my knowledge, it would take two types of B+12 supply to turn on the unit; a constant/always on +12 on the yellow wire and a switched B+12 on the red wire (such as from the ACC terminal of the IGN switch.

If both B+s above are present and the grounding (black wire) has been verified to be connected to the chassis/ground, then it is an internal fault of the Sony CDX-F50M. This of course require that the unit be un-installed and diagnosed/check/repaired.

Absence of any of the two B+s would require tracing where the supply is not present. A DVM wold be handy for the check.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

If the fuses in both the car and the unit are all good & the wiring is all correct & secure but you still get no power, your head unit is fried.

Kenwood no sound

If you have a separate 'power' or sub-woofer amp, check that it still has power and did not blow a fuse. Is there an internal selection inside the unit for enabling the internal amp vs an external amp? Some will disable the internal amp using a setup setting, and just provide low level output that is expected to be amplified by an external amp. If it 'forgot' you might have to set it to use the internal amp again. Or vice-versa, depending.

Pioneer DEH-P5200HD after I replaced a fuse the subwoofer stoped working. I checked the speaker and the amp. Its the radio that doesnt give signal to the amp. Also I tried turning on and off the sub in the...

It sounds like the remote turn on wire from the radio no longer outputs power. You can try connecting the the remote turn on wire from the amp to the accessory power of the radio. Place a 10 amp fuse in line just in case the issue is the amp.

If your head unit is installed correctly there is a 10 amp fuse on the yellow/black lead. There may also be fuses on the solid yellow lead, and the red lead.

How to change the fuse on a kdc-mp2035

You need to pull the unit out from the dash. At the back side of the stereo you will find a 10-amp fuse inserted into the chassis of your Kenwood.

See the red 10 amps fuse on picture below:

I turned down the volume on my kdc-mp522, when i went to turn it back up, it was off (I did not stop or turn car off.). I cannot get it to power on, i can insert and remove disc, so there must be power,...

that is kind of strange and if your getting power to put a cd in but no for it to fully power the unit you may need to check another fuse it will be not be your radio fuse but instead a mini fuse in your vehicles cabin should be on the left side under neith the dash or on the side of the dash it will most likely be a 10 or 15 amp mini fuse that supplies power from the fuse box to the reiceivers acc source ignitions source

My jvc in my probe turns on but no sound i had an alpine in it before and it worked fine can someone please help me...?

you will need to find the power lead for the amp and see if there is an in-line fuse for the amp if not then see where someone hooked the amp up to the cars power source if you replace a fuse and it blows again as soon as you turn on the radio indash unit. look for shorted speaker wires or first try disconnecting all the spweaker wires and if the unit still blows the fuse you will need to have the amp checked out by a pro, unless you can use amd own a multimeter

Unit acts as though it has no power.

Hi Phil

Mike fro Eugene here.
Pioneer cable bundles sometimes have fuses on the red and yellow wires. Check them.

If you have a separate power feed to the stereo, check the positive battery terminal. It's standard practice to put a fuse as close to the batte5ry as possible in case of a dead short.

And finally, check the cable plug on the rear of the unit for a 10 amp

Good luck

Changed battery cable now radio will not even come on.

When you said inline fuse I get the idea that this is not the original radio. Do you have power on the inline fuse? The 50 amp fuse you checked is a bit much for a radio. There may be a smaller fuse in another fuse area of what car type you have. If you do not have power at the inline fuse find some where you do have power (12vdc) and connect to it. If you have power at the in line fuse check the ground wire. If you have a test light or someway of checking for power test all fuses everywhere. If you have a fuse location guide for this vehicle look for the fuse for radio. If it was a add on or after market radio they probably caught power from the original source That is fused under the dash.
