Cmos settings for acer aspire m5641

to reset the cmos you only need to take the small round battery off the board for a few minutes. if your laptop is not keeping time then you need a new battery on the board. ( you will find you cant get on websites when your laptop has the wrong time on as its a security risk ) to enter the bios ( which i would not if i didnt know what i was doing ) turn off laptop/press power button to turn it on/keep pressing F2 while its booting up ..but be careful in there

Need to change battery as date is wrong

For that first open your cpu cabinet then check on motherbord chipset you can find 1 CMOS cell .
It is round cell which gives voltage to your bios for remember settings.
Then pull it and purchase cmos cell from nearest computer shop then put that new cmos cell in it's position on motherbord.
Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" then you can see bios settings screen.
Set your time and date then save settings and exit.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

You need to press F1 and go into the BIOS to setup and detect everything. You will need to set the date, verify it detects your hard drive and memory, and enable/disable items as you need for your system.

Once it looks good, do a Save and Exit.
