Check the controls and make sure they are set properly, so that you are getting air into the ref. also a common thing is that the evap fan motor could be bad and not blowing air into the ref area. it could also be the start of a defrost problem

Model # MFF2557HES Top refrigator section stoped cooling freezer is working

You may have Ice buildup in the freezer. You freezer has a fan in the bak that sends the cool air to the fridge. Your fridge dial determines how muh cold air comes from the freezer. Try defrosting the freezer. You may have to pull the back panel off of the inside of the freezer to get the ice thawed. The ice build up is likely causing the air to not get to the fridge. Hope it works.

Can you feel air moving or hear the fan running in the freezer section? You said the freezer section is freezing well, but is it freezing really hard?

Hi, freezer took a dump two days ago, fridge was still fine. Then 12 hours later the fridge dumped out too. The compressor is hot and the relay looking thing with part number nsk 85851 clicks on for 20 sec...

most likely the start device is bad, look at the left wall inside the fridge near the cieling, you should see a model number, call your parts store, give them the model number on the machine, there is other letters after the g and tell them you need a start device.unplug the machine, until you get the part so you don't damage the compressor,it's not cooling anyway and thhe freezer feeds cold air to the fridge side,a fan blows cold air from freezer to fridge so next time if the freezer has a problem the fridge side is gonna have a problem too, unclip the metal clip and slide the start device off, read the instructions and it will tell you how to install the new device

The refrigerator is not running cold.

most fridges are operating best at +(plus) ,-(minus)3.5 degrees C, at what setting do you have it currently? (settinngs can be between 1(one) up to 10(ten) depends on model and make). most people realize that the fridge is not cold and set the settings(fridge control) up, that is wrong, try to keep freezer build-up clean and run the fridge on a setting of 1(one). switch of the mains, clean the fridge and follow above instructions. if the problem still exists after that then you need to replace the gas

MSD2756GEB maytag. freezer is working properly.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

Defrost the fridge, take everything out of freezer and turn off for at least a day, check the drain is clear after defrosted and try again, if it happens again you may need a new defrost heater of timer.

Maytag fridge

Without knowing the type of fridge(side by side, freezer on top etc.) all I can offer is this: Somewhere between the freezer and the fridge there's an opening thermostatically controlled to transfer cold air from freezer to the fridge. Most have a fan to move the air. So either the fan (if so equipped) stopped, and need to replace, or opening is stuck closed, or plugged.
If freezer is working fine, this is the only problem I can think of.
Hope this helps
