Question about Canon PowerShot G3 Digital Camera

Canon Power Shot G3 dropped

My husband dropped our camera on a concrete floor; the lens won't retract, the camera won't take pictures, and when I look into the lens, a piece is jarred loose inside. So--sounds serious to me but I'm not sure where to get it repaired. Thank you so much for your help. Sharon

I dropped the camera. Tripped over the cord, had it plugged in because battery won't hold much charge. Now, lens will not retract, camera buzzes 7x then screen says lens and turns itself off.

Unfortunately the lens has been damaged, the motor and gear linkage is compromised and will require a camera specialist to resolve the issue, I suggest getting an estimate before commitment.

Canon Power Shot A2000 IS lens is stuck in out position. I had to replace batteries. I replaced them and when I turn on, it says "Lens Error, Restart Camera" and it shuts offs automatically.

The lens has probably got something in the retraction mechanism that is stopping it retracting. This can be something as simple as sand or grit or as a result of a drop or knock. In most cases the camera will need to be stripped apart to remove the lens assy before it can be repaired. This is best left to a professional camera repair shop.

Canon A560 dropped.when the cam is on lens wont retract anymore

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

E 18 problem

the E18 means the lens system has a problem. I had it with my S2 and sometimes it worked, sometimes not. Eventually it stopped working. The only solution was sending it to repair, they changed the lens system.

Best Regards

My Kodak camere was really not dropped. I put in new batteries and the camera only gives me one shot and I have to turn it off and try again. I can plug the camera into a charge cord and I can take all the pictures I want. Is it possible the 2 batteries are not enough to power the camera
