Question about Dell 5650 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Driver I had to slick my hard drive and reload everything. However, my internet and audio didn't work. A guy from Clearwire told me that Dell does not put those drivers on disks when they put your computer together. I got the internet working but can't seem to find the right driver for my MMS 5650. I even typed in the tag but it couldn't find it. Help!!!

There are no drivers for the speakers, you need an audio driver installed for you sound card.

http://support.dell.com

Your system will either have an on-board sound card (Sigmatel normally) or a soundblaster expansion audio card. (If the audio jacks are in an expansion slot below the video card, then you have a soundblaster.

Soundblaster drivers are found at http://www.creative.com

Many times what happens is during Microsoft updates this audio card PC driver gets lost.
You may need to go to Dell's Web site to locate your specific Model's audio card driver and then reload it.
Worth a try!

If your touch pad doesn't work too, there is a connector under the keyboard that affects both the sound and touch pad. It may have come disconnected.

Won't recognize Audio Driver..

have you tried downloading it automatically? check the device manager right click and update driver don't forget to reboot? if your notebook is still under warranty check the condition if dell is going to replace parts or repair your computer for no cost.

Laptop not booting

Was this a reload of XP, if so what was the cause for the reload? This sounds like the hard drive may have failed. I've had them where the reload seems to take , then it either won't boot or will have issues running properly. This is caused by one or two bad sectors in the drive. The drive has many sectors, depending on the size. First try reinstalling XP, if it has any problems during or after the install, then it's the hard drive. If this wasn't a reload or it's a new hard drive let me know and we'll take a different approach.
