Question about MSI K9MM-V Motherboard

1 Answer

Ram issues I have tried installing 1GB of Kingston KVR800D2N5 into this mother board running a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition cpu? I get 2 beeps and then continuous beeps. I have tried it with the onboard graphics and with a Xfx geforce 6200 AGP card. I have tried with RAM in both slots and keep getting same responce.

Well cant say much.
2 beeps mean as you thought bad ram, guess you just bought it so I would go and get a new one from the store.

Hardware upgrade required for autocad 2009

Your existing CPU will not work with that motherboard. The AM2+/AM2 processor slot is for AMD processors only. For this motherboard, you will need one of the following processors: Phenom FX / Phenom / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 X2

Hi jdnimrod,
This is not you're first post about the Foxconn mother board.
You have an issue with the PS2 keyboard as well. This Foxconn model ( 761GXK8 you listed ), is not 100% correct.
Please check this link:

Find which is you're board.
Than post back into this answer.
It is important you run the exact CPU that is compatible with the mother board.

Processor upgrade

Need to look at the motherboard specs along with the processor "Socket". It will usually be a 754 or 939 depending on what your motherboard says. I wouldn't try too fast and set yourself up for disappointment. I would upgrade the RAM before the processor.
