Installing the driver

I spent two days with an internet connection using this adapter, to one day wake up and find it suddenly wasn't working. So I uninstalled the adapter and tried reinstalling it. I ran through the CD setup fine, but when it came to plugging in the adapter after this, it came up with the Found New Hardware option, prompting me to locate the driver. I pointed it to the setup file but it didn't find anything and so the hardware was not installed correctly. So I tried uninstalling the adapter again and restarted, only for it, on the restart, to come up with error message 'WLanCfgG: Load library Ralinktek.dll fail', which repeatedly appears no matter how many times I close it. What can I do?

Check your device manager for your adapter-if the device status says your driver needs to be re-install. Re-install the driver manually-you might need to locate the proper file for your adapter's driver-most commonly a .inf file. Try browsing it in the cd itself under driver folders.

Good day, i am using an inspiron 2200 running windows xp. someone installed a static ip address on my cp and from that day i have been unable to connect to the internet. when i go to network connections...

Well first off know one installed a static IP your internet provider is the one that will do that for you when you get ready to go online if there are numbers in there remove them and select automatically detect settings. Most likely it is a Dynamic IP all you have to do is make sure that you have the driver installed for your card, your internet connection cable hooked up R-45 cable and once all of this is happening and lit your IP will do the rest if not then reboot the router or the modem not sure what you have they will send the proper routing goodies over the line and off you go. You just need to make sure that you are lit on your end and ready to go if for some reason nothing else works then contact your internet service provider and they will come out and make sure that you get set up. Do you have a good signal strength with the wireless USB adapter?
If not try moving the wireless router away from walls or metal objects and cordless phones, locate the wireless router higher.
See if there is a later driver for the wireless USB adapter, if so download and install it.

Hi,

Before you purchase a new adapter, I would suggest you to install the adapter using the latest adapter drivers. Visit the link below to download the drivers:

Used to be able to connect using WRT310N

You should call Linksys tech support now. The router needs to be configured manually. The tech that you hired maybe not familiar on how to configure the Linksys router.

My laptop used to connect to the wireless connection , but one day it stopped working and now i can only connect to internet using a lan cable

go into the device manager and uninstall the wireless adapter. Then click scan for hardware changes and let windows resinstall it. It sounds like a corrupt driver. Before doing so make sure you didnt hit the wireless button that shuts off the connection on the computer. :)

Software malfunction

I assume they told you to uninstall the software, remove the adapter, then re install driver an re insert adapter, as this normally cures the driver fault. If they didn't try that, if the problem persists the adapter may be faulty although i think it's a software problem. Try not to use Windows to repair connection as it never works and resets your pc's ip address differently than your routers already given it.
