Yes.

It should work with CDRWIN and EAC (and probably others), but if the unit
comes with software, wouldn't it be a good idea to establish whether that
software serves your writing requirements, before considering other
software?

I am just about to return mine after having serious disappointments in
writing Data Disks.  I installed mine as a slave on Secondary IDE.  Since
then I tried all combinations with my hard drive and CD-Rom drive.  Sony
CDRW works fine when it does disk to disk audio cd.  But when I tried to
record the audio tracks or any kind of data files, it gives several error
messages.  I called Sony Cust service (which is very poor, even other
posters agree) they gave me some generic answers (like change my BIOS etc) I
have a 450mhz Pentium III 128ram, 8gig compaq.  I don't see why I should
change MY system for a CDRW which does not work as it should.
Having said that, I checked out some reviews from CNet.com; it looks like a
lot of users of spressa 120 and 140 are happy with these.  May be its the
poor
software.  I just got tired of trying this thing to work and decided to
return it to Best Buy.

had the same unit and same problem, my fix was to unplug everything on my
USB hub, Works fine now, Don't ask me why I don't know.

I had to install my 140E as a master, on the seconday IDE channel.  My hard
drive is a master on the primary IDE channel and my DVD/CD reader is the slave
on the primary channel.  Once I configured this way, everything started
working.  Since I purchased an OEM unit, it came with no software.  I use the
latest EZCD creator and Direct CD.  So far so good.  I've also tried the Nero
demo and it works well also.  Hope this helps.
