My imedia b2217 will not boot. Is the motherboard dead? Whenever I switch on the computer nothing happens. No lights, no fans, nothing at all. I have replaced the power supply but still nothing

Hi i'm Basti,

How bout the fan for your power supply, is it running? Try to retrace the cables to motherboard and make sure its tight. Change or use another power supply if possible.

Keep me posted. Hope this helps.

Need to know what connections are free in a imedai 1437 for a wireless network card?

I would use a USB stick type of wireless connector as they are easy to set up and quite inexpensive. There are also PCMIA options to choose from. Whichever slot you have spare is the way to go I would say.

My packard bell imedia will not boot, when i press on button it goes red instead of blue and the shuts off after 2 seconds

i'd say your not passing the post test....if you hear a beep when you start your pc it should boot to windows screen if you dont hear beep you could have a loose cpu fan open up pc and make sure the fan is secure if not try tightening it can be tricky either that or it could be your power supply i wouldnt attempt fixing that if not sure what your doing..or try turning off your pc plug it out disconnect all periphals and press in the on button and hold for 2 minutes then try and boot

HI THERE MY PACKARD BELL 2215 IMEDIA WILL NOT BOOT UP. iT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY THEN IT CRASHED NOW IT STARTS, FANS SOUND, BUT THEN IT SWITCHES OFF, ANYONE HELP? X

Sounds like an overheating problem. Clean the dust out of it, make sure it can get air on all sides, make sure the fans are turning. If that doesn't work, unplug the computer, hit the power button 20 times, wait 1/2 hour and boot it up.

Ubuntu requires high graphic memory on your computer. It could install on some components but it doesn't work on whole installation process. If you are having a desktop machine, add graphic/video card to the motherboard so that Ubuntu will finally be installed in your computer.

Thanks

Hi when i start up my packard bell imedia i get a red light on my tower my fan is spining and my monitor is on a amber light plz help

Assuming the monitor is fine you can try the following:
  1. Open the machine and reseat the video card; if video card is onboard try
  2. Unplug the machine and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes; Its possible Windows didn't shut down properly and CMOS is preventing a normal startup; after replacing the battery, boot up (will probably start up in safe mode
If neither of these fixes the problem, you may have an issue with the monitor itself. Best of luck.

Boot your system in safe mode then check, its booting or not, if boots restore it to some previous date, or change the RAM then check
