it sounds like you have lost the sound drivers. you can go to the HP site and download the sound drivers for your model PC or Google ( HP DC7100SFF sound drivers).
try the drivers first.

I can not hear sound what problem of this?

Several things must be in place to hear sounds on your pc.
You must have speakers - the kind you not only plug into your pc but you must also plug them into your wall to have a louder sound. OR --- you can use head phones. The headphones plug into your pc sound card.

You must have a sound card or onboard sound

You must have a sound card DRIVER.

These three things and some reading will get you going

Best of it

  • Verify that the lack of sound is not due to faulty speaker connections. A simple way to test it is to substitute the speaker connection with headphones and see if you get any sound.
  • Open the volume control window by clicking your "Start" button and then "All Programs." Click "Accessories," then "Entertainment," then "Volume Control." Alternatively, just click on the speaker icon that's in your System Tray.
  • Check the volume and mute settings. If any of the mute check boxes have been checked, uncheck them. If this doesn't work, read on.

    Sound card problem

    * It seems either the sound driver has become corrupt or you have mistakenly installed any other sound driver!

    Try these steps :

    1. Goto Start -> Control Panel.

    2. Sounds -> Playback.

    3. You will see 'Speakers' in the list of devices.

    4. Is there any 'Tick Mark' symbol and 'Working' message ?

    5. If Yes, then the sound driver is OK. Check the other settings like, Levels, Enhancements, And Advanced options by selecting the 'Speaker Properties'.

    6. After configuring, apply settings and close the window.

    7. Restart your system and now check sound!

    8. If the above don't works, reinstall your sound driver!

    9. Try to check your speakers on another PC!

    10. If speakers not working, then problem is in speakers not the driver!

please rate me if it helps...tc! :)

Bought a new computer but my speakers won't work. They worked on the old one. Do I need to download drivers?

    Hello there:
I dont think that you would have to download any drivers unless you had to do it with the other computer.
what you may want to do is make sure you are connected to the right plug in and you can even try to play a cd and move the plug in from one hole to the next and if still nothing try this
go to control panel and go to sounds and then make sure that the sound devices are there and are not muted but if you get the error saying no audio device than you will have to download a
sound driver in that case i highly recommend downloading vinal ac 97 this is a free sound driver and mixer utility that works verey will with various operating systems ok and if all of this still does not work you may want to try a new speaker ok?
I hope that this is very helpfull for you
    best regards michael

crazy, the speakers itself does not have drivers, but altec lansing does have utilities to optimize your speaker powers. you may also want to update your sound card's drivers.
