Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I have a Canon G6 Powershot camera. My problem is that I have lost the two screws that hold the LCD screen housing together. Apparently they fell out at some point and I now need two replacements to keep the front and back together on the screen so that when I rotate it, it doesn't separate!! Anybody know where I can buy these two tiny screws? Thanks! MMM

I need replacement screws for the camera body. Two are in the base near the tripod mount and two are on the left side near the DIGITAL - A/V OUT. What is the cost to purchase these? I can install them.

Have you contacted Canon Support and asked them about this?

Ask them if you can buy from them or from a third party, Canon authorized repair center.

Missing a screw on LCD screen.

Is this possibly the screw you need? If not, have you tried contacting Canon online or by phone to see if you can get the screw directly from them?

Screen is black when i attempt to take pic

Move all the pictures to the camera memory card from your internal memory. Since you have to open the camera, the pictures will be lost otherwise. Save your pictures. If you do not have a memory card, transfer all the pictures to your computer.
Remove batteries from the camera.

Purchase a replacement LCD screen, specific to your camera. These replacement screens can usually be purchased directly from Canon or from a camera resale shop. Auction websites should also carry LCD screens specific for these cameras. Use the mini screwdriver to remove the four screws from the back of the camera. Be careful with this step since the screws are tiny. Take the back cover of the camera off carefully. Inside the camera, there is a piece of foam that supports the LCD screen. Do not remove the foam. Set the bottom portion of the camera to the side.

Turn the top portion of the camera so it is facing upward. Notice how there are clips holding the LCD screen in place. Carefully lift these clips up and remove the broken LCD screen. The screen clips are extremely fragile and break easily if they are lifted too quickly. A gentle touch is key.Place the new screen down gently and replace the clips. Gently dust the screen so fingerprints are removed.Turn the top portion of the camera down so the screen is pointing down. Place this on top of the foam padding. Turn the screws carefully. The best way to screw the back of the camera in place is to first screw in one corner, move to the corner that is diagonally across and turn that screw. Repeat for the other two screws.Replace the batteries. Turn the camera on and see if it is function.

Thank you !!

As I pull out the LCD screen on my A95 the picture will come on at about 100 degree angle to the camera body. If I continue to move the screen to a use able position then the screen goes black again. I...

I would agree with the repair shop cheaper to replace than fix... but if your a do it yourself kinda person you can fix this the problem. sounds to me as if the one or more of the LCD wires have broke the following link is to a replacement screen you will need one like this for your repair and allot of patience. there are like 10 micro screws holding the camera together. but the good news is the LCD just plugs in no soldering. so with a new screen $38.88 and a little expertise you can have your camera up and running in no time. but before repairing I would check out best buys web site you can get a new camera with much higher resolution for a few dollars more. hope I have been of some help.. please don't forget to rate and if you need anymore assistance just email me i would be happy to help.....okcfirewall

Loose display screen on Canon Powersho G6 camera.

Try your local camera repair shop. They should have extra screws. You could also buy a nonworking camera on Ebay and use it for parts.

If you have any nonworking electronics laying around you can take some screws from them and see if they fit.

They should be metric.

Line in the LCD screen

there is a very strong possibility that a part of the film circuit of the LCD was loose and somehow totally lost connection due to shaking and other forms of physical trauma.
