Question about Maytag 24 in. MDB8751AWS Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher
Hello, bought this model maytag dishwasher used from a reliable source. after installing, the electronic (digital?) operating buttons to choose cleaning options (heavy, normal, light wash options, etc, etc) are not allowing me to change options; the unit is already set on certain options (light wash - I want normal or heavy wash & sanitizing option & scrub option). any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks so much!
in such cases it is always the control panel(touch panel) that needs to be replaced.it is very simple 2 chg and u could save lot of money.to chge cntrl panel ,open the door and remove all the screws around the white plastic part of door.then pull apart the inner part from outside part.the cntrol panel is held to outer panel with 4 screws.b4 that remove 2 screws holding the control board to panel.do not forget 2 unplug the unit from power b4 doing anything.

SOURCE: I have a Maytag dishwasher
It is best to try a few different ones... different detergents work differently with the different dishwasher/water combo's... ya can never tell what the best soap will be till ya try them in your DW with your water...
Also get some TSP and add that it will help the soap work better...

First off, thank you for selecting Fixya as your goto place for answers. I am going to assume a few thing like the electrical cord is properly hooked up and the polarity in not reversed. Because if it is you will continue to have issues with the control board even after you replace it. Control board will be the problem here but can be caused by the polarity being reversed, but before you replace it you might want to check. I have found more board failure due to the polarity being reversed you would be shock. This is why, when reversed the power side will work for a while, but when the current changes direction or something else causes this to happen the board takes a hit, it will react confused and erratic. But yes, you will need to replace the control board to correct the problem you have today.Good Luck
