Nope. not a common thing. Also, given that the set is only 8 months old, it should be under warranty. Place a call for warranty service. It would help to know when this noise happens too. for example, does it occur right away or only after the set is on for a while? How long must it be on? This type of info will be helpful to the service center in tracking down the problem in the least amount of time.

We have the old style tv and it works perfect until yesterday this is what it is doing...............the menu options walk thru steps just keep appearing on the screen we can get the picture behind it but...

your tv needs to be repair if you dont have a knowledge about electronics repair then call in a repair man.. there are very high voltage in a tv that can be fatal.....to start with before you get a repair man.plug out your tv from the current outlet let it stand with out current for about an hour then plug it in back.power it up and see what it does if it gives the same problem then call in the tech to reprogram your tv for you or make repairs.causeif it gives the same problem it will be that your memory ic is tv your problem.good luck.make sure you disconnect the cable wire also from the tv.

Philips 60PP9200D went black and white.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixelation ,black and white picture, even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

46PP9302/17f convergence problem maybe....

You need the STK392-120 convergence amps replaced along with possibly a couple of 6.8 ohm resistors. As a technician this job can range anywhere between $185.00-$250.00.If you can solder the dificulty level will require some electronics experience.Good luck!!
