try and reinstall the drivers for it...do a search in your search bar in start menu and look for device manger find the sound card in the list and hit the button says update driver if this does not work

bottom right in task bar should be a small speaker looking item right click it and goto sounds >playback click on speaker or headset and then hit properties then goto advanced then make sure all the levels are maxed .....

Go to the Viao web site, and get the latest HDMI driver and reinstall it, also make sure you have all the latest drivers, for your audio and install them to, that should put it right.
Note Some HDMI don't do sound... you must use Line Out on laptop to AV on whatever..

1. check whether u have inserted the audio cable in the right port (Headphone Port)!

2.also check the audio settings of headphone port (volume,channels,etc.)

Connected my x1300 to my tv via hdmi got picture but no sound. lead works and nothing is muted. plz help


Sound doesn't travel to you tv via a hdmi lead from your laptop, you would need to use laptops speakers, or a connect the laptop to a suitable audio device.

please check if it works when using earphones.

if u are using win-xp home editon service pack2, some onboard sound cards do not function properly, meaning that installation of drivers appears to be working fine, but the internal handling leads to a no sound problem.
hook up your laptop to the internet and get all available windows updates from microsoft.com using the automatic update function, reboot and set the volume like described in 1st solution1

what OS are you using ?

check in the sys tray there is a icon of a speaker click on it and you will see if is mute or turn down.

OR go to start, control panel,sound .....and use advance option
